Senior Manager, Application Modernisation

MongoDB Professional Services (PS) works with customers of all shapes and sizes, in all verticals, from tier-1 banks to small web startups, on a variety of exciting use cases. MongoDB PS exists to support the development of our customers’ vision, accelerate customers’ time to value, and drive a multitude of customer adoption scenarios – from building new solutions to modernizing legacy applications or migrating to cloud. Our consulting solutions ensure that organizations get the best out of MongoDB.
As the leader of our newly established offshore modernization center, you will lead a team of Lead Developers and managers delivering solutions focussed on migrating legacy relational database-based Java applications to a modern cloud-based architecture running on MongoDB, leveraging the latest genAI tools and approaches to accelerate this process.

Position Expectations
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of lead developers / managers to achieve their full potentialDevelop a team of people leaders, including developing leaders and their direct reportsDeeply understand each team member's existing skill set/skill level. Based on the skills assessment, be capable of setting up individual, sustainable development plansProactively maintain a robust recruiting pipeline, attracting the highest quality talent in the industry to support excellence and rapid growthPromote and demonstrate a culture of trust, collaboration, innovation, and excellenceEnsure the timely and high-quality delivery of application development support for various projectsImplement and maintain best practices for software development, including coding standards, code reviews, and testingSupport MongoDB account and delivery teams in risk management throughout the delivery lifecycleCollaborate with other functions across the company, and contribute to global Professional Services strategy development and executionManage and allocate resources effectively to meet the needs of multiple project teamsConduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team membersStay at the forefront of the industry by staying abreast of the latest genAI advancements and leveraging cutting-edge developments to fulfill migration projectsRequirements
Minimum of 12+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3+ years in a managerial or second-line leadership role.Demonstrated leadership skills, with direct responsibility for managing leaders and ICs; Demonstrated history of delivering high-quality results as a leaderDemonstrated ability to maintain productive relationships and alignment with other internal teams and stakeholdersOutstanding and effective interpersonal skills, along with strong communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong proficiency in JavaSome experience and knowledge of Python or JavaScrip/Node.jsStrong experience in building applications that interact with relational databases using SQLSome experience with Enterprise Java (J2EE / JavaEE / Spring) application architecturesHistory of building teams that deliver high-cadence modern applications with applied Agile methodologies, test-first development approaches, adopting CI/CD pipelines and using Git version controlComfortable with limited travelNice To Have Skills
