Role : Raw Material Development Technologist
Level : T1
Location : Hyderabad
Job Purpose
To identify, screen and develop potential alternate and new raw materials for use in pet food at MARS India. The Associate shall be responsible for identifying potential raw materials by analysing data on its functional benefits, food safety risks and economics of use. He/She shall actively participate in the supplier development process and assist the Product Development in commercialisation of the raws concerned. Should facilitate implementation and improvement of the Material quality management from the R&D perspective.
Key Responsibilities
Identification of Potential and alternate Raw Materials.
Development of New Raw materials for New Brands and Portfolio additions done at Site.
Prepare and maintain MRA and Specifications of Raw Materials complying to MQM Standard.
Co-ordinate with R&D Director / QFS Manager, Supply QC Lab, Product Development, PPI, and Global Raw material Development team in assessing and monitoring the Raw materials development.
He/she shall be the sole point of contact in terms Material Quality Management from an R&D perspective. ( MRA, governance etc)
Coordinating for sampling plan and testing prior receival of trials materials in co-ordination with Lab, Inbound, commercial and PPI.
Support in MQM, HRCI, Mold and Mycotoxin and other related QFS Standards for effective implementation and monitoring, Including related Quality Metrics improvement.
Quality- “Associate is responsible to ensure effective implementation of Mars QMP (Quality Management Process), Quality and Food Safety requirements including Personnel Hygiene and GMP stated by the Organization as applicable. Associate shall deliver through Respective Area/Process Standard Operating Procedures. Meet basic competency requirements mentioned in the job Role Skill Matrix to ensure Quality and Food Safety requirements are implemented to satisfactory level.”
SES-Create SES culture within the team through visible demonstration, engaging his/her team in all SES activities, defining SES objective as annual KRA's and effective deployment of SES Policy/Management system. Responsible to ensure that Risk assessment is performed and controls implemented and maintained for all operational activities. Overall responsibility to ensure the functional compliance to Mars Global Standards, Asset conservation standards and all relevant local SES legislation.
Qualification and Experience
1. Education & Professional Qualification
Degree qualified in a food or science related discipline Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in a similar role in an Food FMCG company or related roles in Mars Ideally has working experience in the area of quality & food safety exposure, material and product innovation
2. Knowledge/Experience
Must speak and read English fluently Working knowledge of Food Safety Systems & Mars Standards Awareness Decision making and escalation procedures, process management Conflict resolution
