OverviewThe DataModeler plays a crucial role in the organization by designing andmaintaining data models that enable organizations to make informedbusiness decisions based on data analysis. This role is essentialfor ensuring data accuracy consistency and accessibility which arevital for the success of the organizations datadriven initiatives.The Data Modeler collaborates closely with crossfunctional teams tounderstand data requirements and design effective data models thatmeet the organizations needs.Keyresponsibilities
  • Develop and maintainconceptual logical and physical data models based on businessrequirements
  • Collaborate with businessstakeholders and data engineers to understand data requirements andtranslate them into effective datamodels
  • Optimize and standardize data models forimproved performance scalability andmaintainability
  • Perform data analysis toidentify trends patterns and insights to enhance data modelingprocesses
  • Ensure data models comply with datagovernance and security standards
  • Work closelywith database administrators to implement data model changes andoptimizations
  • Document data models metadata anddata lineage for easy accessibility andunderstanding
  • Participate in data architecturediscussions and contribute to data strategy and roadmapdevelopment
  • Collaborate with ETL developers toensure seamless integration of data models into ETLprocesses
  • Provide expertise and guidance ondata modeling best practices and standards to theorganization
  • Conduct performance tuning andoptimization of database queries and data retrievalprocesses
  • Support data migration datatransformation and data integrationinitiatives
  • Stay updated with industry trendsand emerging technologies in data modeling and databasemanagement
  • Contribute to the continuousimprovement of data modeling tools processes andmethodologies
Requiredqualifications
  • Bachelors or Mastersdegree in Computer Science Information Systems or a relatedfield
  • Proven experience as a Data Modeler or ina similar role within a datadrivenorganization
  • Proficiency in data modeling toolssuch as ER/Studio ERwin or similar tools
  • StrongSQL skills for querying analyzing and manipulatingdata
  • Experience in designing and optimizingrelational and dimensionaldatabases
  • Understanding of data warehousingconcepts and best practices
  • Knowledge of ETLprocesses and tools for dataintegration
  • Familiarity with data governancedata quality and data securityprinciples
  • Ability to collaborate effectivelywith crossfunctional teams and communicate complex data concepts tonontechnical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical andproblemsolving skills with attention todetail
  • Experience with data analysis andvisualization tools such as Tableau Power BI or similartools
  • Knowledge of industry standards and bestpractices in data modeling and databasedesign
  • Excellent documentation and presentationskills to convey complex data models andconcepts
  • Relevant certifications in datamodeling database management or related fields are aplus
