Lead Engineer II - Seal Technology

Job Purpose

Defines and executes engineering solutions within a Seal Technology team, and acts as a technical and technological referent, in accordance with TechnipFMC standards, procedures and processes, schedules and man hours, with a continuous concern for quality, targets, and customer satisfaction.

Job Description

•Works in a small team to develop new products and industrialize existing equipment for Seal Technology product line
•Defines the attributes, requirements, and specifications for new products
•Engages with the entire value stream to ensure effective cost, manufacturing, and operation
•Performs hand-calculations and FEA to support design work
•Presents to customers and multi-disciplined audiences
•Creates prototypes of new products throughout the design process and evolution
•Quickly identifies problems throughout execution. Asks for help from sponsors whenever struggles and unresolved problems stall the development.
•Regularly checks in with supervisor to discuss project status and decisions
•Tracks spend, budget, and forecasted costs for personal projects
•Maintains a personal schedule of projects and communicates updates with key stakeholders
•Executes prototyping and final qualification testing in a shop/lab environment
•Reports directly to the Seal Technology Value Stream NPD/PLM Team Lead/ Engineering Manager

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or applicable discipline, with at least 8 years of related experience, preferred

• Advanced technical skills in engineering

• Advanced project management skills

• Skillful communicator and negotiator

• Excellent training and mentoring skills • Advanced planning, organizational and problem-solving skills

• Understanding business challenges and what drives customer values

• Excellent command of English

Additional Skills

•Focus on detailed mechanical design and qualification work with a sound understanding of engineering practices, design methods & calculations
•General understanding of economic factors (cost, profit, impact of decisions) affecting product developments along with knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, qualification, and test processes
•Able to read, interpret and prepare technical designs and documentation
•Able to work with a global team to solve and implement complex solutions into an existing product line
•Knowledge of API 6A/17D, preferred
•Able to meet deadlines and manage priorities
•Must have presentation and coaching skills
•Must be customer service oriented
•Must be able to work collaboratively and effectively in a team setting
