Responsibilities

1) The role holder will lead the team responsible for the setting and maintenance of the overall strategic direction for Transaction Monitoring- The role will focus on striking a fine balance between Effectiveness and Efficiency, and continually evaluate emerging technologies that can help achieve higher effectiveness maintaining sustainable cost base

Requirements:- Seasoned professional with direct experience of AML- Extensive working knowledge of all aspects of Transaction Monitoring (at strategic and operational level), gained within large financial banks

2) Assess risk events( Alerts), created by the Monitoring systems or created manually, to identify unusual customer behavior and escalate such unusual patterns for Analysis. Perform the assessment in accordance with the procedure laid down in processes SOP and Country Addendum. Processing of cases should be within the turnaround time (TAT) and should adhere to the quality guidelines.

3) The role will focus on developing and implementing, working closely with the sub-functions, global and country governance capabilities to support monitor, control and continually improve the Transaction Monitoring framework across all key pillars of Transaction Monitoring: Systems, Data, People and Processes Analytics

4) Strong understanding of how TM control mitigates FCC Risk and the various underpinning activities forming the TM programme- Proficient knowledge of AML and CTF issues across the financial services industry

Others:

ü Lead team and manage the BAU Activities efficiently

ü Share best practices with peers and support in creating an FCC Risk Management Culture of Excellence

ü Perform Quality Check on the L1 analysis and provide feedback to improve the Alert Investigation methodology

ü Ensure Technology / Risk issues identified are reported and escalated to the reporting Manager & Technology team in a timely manner

ü Ensure regulatory requests received from country CPLE relating to AML alerts are promptly attended and responded

ü Assist the senior management in BCP planning and testing and take appropriate measure for managing the crisis situation

ü Work in Shift according to Business requirement

ü Preparation of various MIS

ü Co-operate and support the management in implementation of any other initiative that may arise during the course of the year

Profile required

Experience – 10 to 15 years

Technical Competencies:  

1) Execute Compliance Governance, Frameworks and Models - Partner with the business to make decisions based on the knowledge and interpretation of current and possible future policies, practices, trends and information of financial crime.

2) Implement Identification, Monitoring, Testing, and Reporting - Partner with Business and Operational Risk to identify and mitigate financial compliance risks & Resolve escalation of potential suspicious activities

3) Manage and Mitigate Risks - Conclude investigations of potential and actual non- compliant activities & Review system safeguards and recommend process enhancements

4) Surveillance - Detect and confirm patterns of behavior by analyzing structured and unstructured data including large data volumes

Additional Specific Role Requirements:  

AML Transaction Monitoring experience on Correspondent Banking is Mandatory.

1) Extensive Knowledge on Financial Crime Compliance and banking & Understanding the Money Laundering & Terrorist Financing typologies and techniques, Sanctions regulations and guidelines 
2) Overview of the end to- end monitoring process flow 
3) Understands operational risks and controls 
4) Experience with AML surveillance systems such as SAS, Mantas, Detica, Actimize SAM

5) Working knowledge on Internet, MS Office Suite and is able to use this knowledge effectively at work

Preferential Competencies

1) Any certificate on AML fields like CAMS, ICA etc.,

2) Proficiency in French language is a plus – Optional
