The research we do and the products we develop improve outcomes for patients around the world. As a Research Assoc I at Baxter, your work contributes directly to making a significant impact on others. It's challenging work—and you're not on your own. Our teams collaborate cross-functionally and lead by influence. Whether guiding a team through a project or managing direct reports, our research and development team is responsible for influencing others to achieve results.

When you join Baxter as a Research Assoc I(Preclinical Toxicology), you'll use your analytical approach to identify risks and opportunities for innovation quickly. Agile and willing to take action, you stay calm under pressure.
Your Team

What you'll be doing
This section contains a list of primary responsibilities of this role that account for 5% or more of the work. The incumbent will perform duties assigned.
Perform risk assessments to determine biocompatibility testing required to demonstrate product safety. Document risk assessments in Baxter qualified systems such as Team Center Unified (TCU), Trackwise 8, Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN). Generate protocols and reports for biocompatibility testing. Manage biocompatibility testing at external laboratories within budget and according to project landmarks. Serve as a study monitor for studies placed at external laboratories and review protocols and reports. Summarize biocompatibility testing in technical documents that may be used for regulatory filing. Develop knowledge and understanding of ISO 10993 series of standards for performing biological assays and toxicological risk assessments per ISO 10993-17. Develope knowledge of global compendia (e.g USP, EP, JP etc) or other medical device, container closure systems, and drug impurity regulations.

Possess relevant laboratory/technical, writing, and computer skills. Good oral and written communication in English. Able to work in a global team environment appropriately supporting project deliverables. Self motivated and takes personal responsibility for getting the job done. Ability to organize and clearly communicate information. Understand importance of project schedules and impact of not achieving milestones. Able to adapt to shifting priorities. Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving.
Education and/or Experience:
Include the education and experience that is necessary to perform the job satisfactorily.
Bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years of experience.
