Position: Senior Software Engineer - Streaming, Digital Business

Purpose: Defining the platform architecture, technology strategy and implementation standards

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines; extensive, directly related experience may be considered in-lieu of degree(s).

Experience: Over 8+ Years of experience in the IT industry

Experience with OTT streaming platforms preferred.

Location: Bangalore

Reporting Relationship: Associate Vice President – Video Engineering, Digital Business

Business/Channel/Function: Digital

Key Responsibilities:

Providing technology guidance to shape overall digital (OTT) streaming strategy. Collaborate with other architects and SMEs in the space to define the ideal approaches in integrating the solution with the broader ecosystem. Interfaces with the enterprise architecture team and other functional areas to ensure that the most efficient solution is designed. Presents solutions to leadership, management, architects, and developers. Applies and integrates emerging technological trends to new and existing systems architecture. Monitors current and future trends, technology and information in the technology space that will positively affect organisational projects. Mentors team members in relevant technologies and implementation architecture. Works with the delivery teams and 3rd party software vendors to ensure quality delivery to the platform. Support Business Partners, Analysts, Quality Assurance, and Production Support teams.

Behavioural Excellent organisational, technical, interpersonal and communication skills. Strong analytical skills with ability to think strategically and critically. Ability to work with all levels within the organisation, including field service team members' management, cross-departmental teams and senior leadership. Should be a good team player & able to work independently under pressure. Experience handling the remote and inhouse teams is must. Strategic thinker balanced with a grasp of details. Must possess the ability to switch between execution and strategy mode most effortlessly. Ability to see the big picture, visualize the future and develop relevant functional strategies which value add to our business. Ability to prioritize and cope with competing demands. Must possess a sense of urgency and excellent execution and project management skills. Must be excited by and be able to navigate ambiguity. Passion for results and excellence. Must be able to get the job done by working collaboratively with others. Inquisitive and analytical mind; out-of-the-box thinking; bring a creative perspective to business problems applying functional expertise, business understanding and common sense. Technical Experience working on an enterprise scale web application preferred Experience in administration of production environments in distributed enterprise-wide solutions Experience in Availability, Capacity, Disaster Recovery planning Experience in data security and data privacy best practices and implementation strategies Adept at developing strategic plans and working with large and distributed teams Familiarity with current software design methodologies including agile (scrum) development process.
