Job Overview:

The Senior Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure databases. This role involves ensuring data availability, integrity, and security, working closely with cybersecurity and IT teams.


Key Responsibilities:

Database Management:

  • Design, implement, and maintain database systems to support cybersecurity needs.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of databases.

Security Implementation:

  • Implement database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and monitoring.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Data Integrity:

  • Ensure data integrity through backup and recovery processes.
  • Develop and test disaster recovery plans.

Performance Tuning:

  • Optimize database performance through tuning and indexing.
  • Monitor database performance and resolve issues promptly.

Incident Response:

  • Respond to database security incidents and breaches.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cybersecurity, IT, and application development teams.
  • Provide guidance on database security best practices.

Compliance and Auditing:

  • Ensure databases comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Support internal and external audits.

Documentation:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and security measures.
  • Prepare reports on database performance and security status.

Training and Support:

  • Provide training and support to staff on database management and security.
  • Ensure users understand their roles in maintaining database security.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  • Stay updated with the latest database technologies and cybersecurity trends.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on cybersecurity.
  • Strong background in database management and security.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency with database technologies such as SQL, Oracle, MySQL, or MongoDB.
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Certifications:
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Oracle DBA are preferred.
