TheDesign Engineer (Civil) in the renewable energy business isresponsible for designing and planning civil engineering aspects ofrenewable energy projects ensuring the safe efficient andsustainable development of renewable energy facilities. This roleinvolves working closely with crossfunctional teams includingenvironmental specialists project managers and construction teamsto deliver highquality civil engineering designs that comply withindustry standards andregulations.
JobContext & MajorChallenges:Indiahas been rapidly expanding its renewable energy sector aiming tomeet its energy demands sustainably and reduce its dependence onfossil fuels. As a Design Engineer (Civil) working in the renewableenergy business you would be part of a dynamic and evolving teamthat offers exciting opportunities to contribute to the exponentialgrowth journey of the business and nations energy transition. Yourrole would involve designing and planning civil engineering aspectsof various renewable energy projects such as solar power plantswind farms floater projects etc. Youll collaborate withmultidisciplinary teams and work on projects of varyingscales.
PrincipalAccountabilities:
SupportingActions
SiteAssessment and FeasibilityStudies
  • Conductsite assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate thesuitability of locations for renewable energyprojects.
  • Analyzegeotechnical data topographic surveys and environmental impactassessments to identify potential challenges and opportunitiesrelated to civil engineeringdesign.

CivilEngineeringDesign
  • Developdetailed civil engineering designs for renewable energy projectsincluding solar farms wind farms floaters and otherfacilities.
  • Preparesite layouts grading plans drainage systems foundation designs androad infrastructure to support renewable energyinstallations.
  • Ensurethat civil designs align with project objectives local regulationsand environmentalconsiderations.

CollaborationandCoordination
  • Collaboratewith the project development team environmental experts and otherstakeholders to integrate civil engineering requirements into theoverall projectplan.
  • Coordinate withexternal consultants contractors and suppliers to obtain necessaryinputs and ensure timely projectdelivery.

PermittingandCompliance
  • Assistin obtaining necessary permits and approvals for civil engineeringaspects of renewable energyprojects.
  • Ensurecompliance with local state and central regulations andenvironmental standards throughout the designprocess.

TechnicalEvaluation
  • Evaluatethe technical aspects of civil engineering proposals from vendorsand subcontractors to ensure adherence to project requirements andqualitystandards.
  • Conducttechnical reviews and provide recommendations to supportprocurementdecisions.

QualityAssurance and RiskManagement
  • Implementquality assurance processes to verify the accuracy and completenessof civil engineeringdesigns.
  • Identifypotential risks related to civil engineering aspects and developmitigationstrategies.
  • Provide adesign to safeguard our companys safetystandards.

SustainabilityandInnovation
  • Integratesustainable design principles and innovative technologies toenhance the performance and efficiency of renewable energyprojects.
  • Stay updatedon industry best practices new technologies and advancements incivil engineering design for renewable energyapplications.
