Job Overview


We are seeking a Purchase Executive Steel & Scrap to join our team at Kalliyath Group. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of steel and scrap materials for our steel manufacturing unit in Palakkad, Kerala, India. As a Purchase Executive, you will play a vital role in ensuring the availability of high-quality raw materials to support our production process. This is a full-time position suitable for candidates with 1 to 3 years of experience in procurement and a strong understanding of the steel industry.


Qualifications and Skills


  • 1 to 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the steel industry
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other procurement software/tools
  • Knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) systems
  • Ability to analyze stock levels and make data-driven decisions
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Attention to detail and professional manner


Roles and Responsibilities


  • Source and procure steel and scrap materials from suppliers
  • Manage the entire procurement process, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management
  • Review and analyze market trends, pricing, and suppliers to ensure competitive advantage
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and identify potential new suppliers
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their material requirements and ensure timely delivery
  • Monitor stock levels and proactively address any shortage or surplus situations
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
  • Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and make recommendations for improvement
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information
  • Stay updated with industry developments and market dynamics related to steel and scrap materials
