DNS Engineer II

As a ENGINEER II, you will report to the Sr. MANAGER. This person will be working with each BU to understand the requirements and dependencies with DNS.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for supporting day-to-day operations of the systems within the scope of the Network Team. Support and maintain core Windows DNS and DHCP servers. Experience with Akamai DNS. DNS stale records clean up. Secure DNS environment. Ability to automate day to day DNS operations. Experienced with PowerShell and Python, IAC-Scripts 24/7 On-Call support to address critical issues. Maintain and create documentation as required. Diagnose problems and escalate technical support where appropriate. Own the problem and the resolution promoting end-user satisfaction. Provide timely responses and status updates to end-user and management requests. Follow set policies and procedures when working incidents/requests and ensure proper hand-offs when required. Maintain a professional attitude and always provide excellent customer service. Maintain a good work ethic and assisting other engineers and senior staff when needed. Identify continuous improvement opportunities and act on them.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Bachelor s Degree with 7+ years’ experience as DNS Engineer in a Medium to Large Enterprise Environment At least 2+ years of experience with cloud DNS concepts. Strong knowledge on DNS tools and servers. Industry certifications such as CCNA, Security and ITIL, etc. a plus Troubleshooting, analysis, and creative thinking skills. PowerShell, Python and any one of the IAC scripting knowledge. Understanding of client server technology. Knowledge on enterprise level technologies such as multi-factor authentication, MDM solution, virus protection, file sharing solutions, server virtualization, etc.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Understanding of client server technology. Skills and knowledge in Windows server operating systems and Active Directory. Experience with Microsoft cloud solutions such as Office 365, Teams, Azure a plus. Knowledge with other enterprise level technologies such as multi-factor authentication, MDM solution, virus protection, file sharing solutions, server virtualization, etc. Understanding of technical support practices such as ticket documentation, SLAs, and escalation processes. Knowledge on Network topology and working on network domain. Quick learner, self-starter, the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Able to work within time constraints and follow set processes and procedures. Customer focused, a team player, and able to work on multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
