We are looking for an experienced VPCompliance to lead our compliance efforts and support MODIFI in itsmission to change the world of international trade. At MODIFI youwill have a great opportunity to not only be a contributor toMODIFIs business payments and global BuyNowPayLater offering butalso actively help develop global fintech partnerships. This roleis based in the Mumbai India office ofMODIFI.

  • MODIFI is a trulyglobal Fintech company with customers in more than 15 marketsaround the globe.

  • Youcontinuously improve MODIFIs antimoney laundering sanctions and CTFframework.

  • You are able toimmerse yourself in technical details but can also take ahelicopter view on the role of Compliance in the Fintechspace.

  • You focus onimproving MODIFIs onboarding and trading experience for ourcustomers and work on innovative solutions to make this moreseamless and secure. You work closely with our Risk team to reducefraud risk exposure.

  • Youhave a deep understanding of global trade and/or trade finance andare able to assess compliance risks for structured tradetransactions such as commodity trades and (structured) financetransactions with multiple involvedcountries.

  • You recognisepatterns of suspected sanctions avoidance or (tradebased) moneylaundering

  • You are a trustedstakeholder in key strategic processes such as developing Fintechpartnerships. raising debt and equity financing and auditprocesses.

Requirements

Theseare the skills and attitude that youbring:
  • 5 years working in FinCrimeCompliance (AML/CTF/Sanctions) in the financial industry (bankingor FinTech preferred with a recent accreditation (e.g. ACAMS)demonstrating your expertise.
  • You are anexcellent communicator with a keen eye for the broader complianceenvironment when discussing MODIFIs compliance framework withexternal stakeholders such as Fintech partners debt and equityinvestors or auditors.
  • Proven experienceidentifying and implementing process improvements that result in asmooth onboarding and transaction experience for ourcustomers.
  • You think 10x and want to build ahighly scalable Compliance framework that relies on technologyinstead of additional headcount. You have creative ideas and provenexperience with innovative solutions that make thathappen.
  • You have domain expertise in AML/CTF(including CDD TM risk assessments UAR/SAR reporting) and a goodknowledge of the India and AML and Sanctionsframework.
  • You apply your expertise to findcreative and compliant solutions in an international context withcustomers from around the globe.
  • You have endresponsibility and ownership of the Financial Crime Compliancefunction and over time build out the team (currently consisting oftwo persons) and work closely with first line Compliance Operationsand our Risk team. You report directly to theCFO.
