The Centre for Intrinsic Motivation (CIM) is a flagship venture of Schools and Teachers Innovating for Results (India), an NGO established in 2014, We work in collaboration with governments and partner organisations to build a highly motivated teaching workforce and strengthen their capacities to promote quality of learning in schools. The Center for Intrinsic Motivation (CIM) is dedicated to enhancing the intrinsic motivation of teachers and educational officials, recognizing this as a pivotal element in sustaining improvements in classroom practices and student learning. CIM's interventions are designed around the core principles of intrinsic motivation, aiming to strengthen the agency, mastery, and purpose of educators. By fostering communities of practice, reflection, and feedback, CIM promotes behavior change that leads to lasting improvements in student learning outcomes. Our initiatives have proven effective in in-service teacher training and have positively impacted student outcomes across India. Currently, CIM operates in Delhi, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, reaching over 2.9 lakh teachers and 47 lakh children.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Program Coordinator in Karnataka will play a crucial role in driving CIM's mission to enhance educational quality through intrinsic motivation. We have multiple positions open across the state. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on education in Karnataka. The Program Coordinator will work closely with district and block/cluster level officials to advocate for teacher motivation, ensuring the successful implementation of CIM programs in schools. The role requires building strong relationships with key stakeholders and aligning efforts towards a common goal of improving teaching and learning.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Stakeholder Management

  • Establish strong connections and advocacy efforts with District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) stakeholders to promote educational initiatives and reforms.
  • Establish and maintain regular communication channels with district, block, and school officials, involving them in various levels of operational planning and program design.

 Program Implementation

  • Assess the needs of district-level officials and teachers through surveys, interviews, and data analysis to identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate training sessions and workshops for teachers and officials to reinforce program objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to officials through both in-person and remote coaching sessions to enhance their skills and effectiveness in their roles.
  • Assist Nodal Officers in organizing and delivering training programs, ensuring they have access to relevant educational content and resources.
  • Regularly visit schools and Block Resource Centers, maintain communication with DIETs, and participate in review meetings to ensure continuity and progress.
  • Share educational videos, content, and other resources with relevant participants to support their professional development.
  • Observe training sessions and classrooms to assess teaching methods, student engagement, and overall effectiveness, recording findings for further analysis and improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions, providing regular updates to the Associate Head – Karnataka Programme.

 Communication & Documentation

  • Compiling and presenting weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports detailing the progress of educational initiatives and outcomes achieved.
  • Documenting successful strategies and initiatives within the program to serve as examples for replication in other districts or regions.
  • Creating detailed case studies that highlight successful implementations of educational programs and reforms for dissemination and learning purposes.

Learning & Development

  • Understanding District Education System Structure: This involves thoroughly researching and comprehending how the education system operates at the district level, including administrative structures, policies, and procedures.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • At least 2 years of experience with at least 2 years in grassroots education / government relationships excellent influencing skills.
  • Demonstrate project management skills with an ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate very effectively in Kannada (read, comprehend and speak) and English.
  • Willingness to travel to different districts.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and advocate effectively.
