Linux servers run very business critical workloads for our customers. These have become very attractive targets for the attackers to create havoc to our customers. Microsoft Defender for Endpoint product provides a security solution to protect the Linux Servers with high performance, quality, and more importantly innovative security solutions. We are hiring for a Group Engineering manager for this business/product.

Qualifications

15+ years of experience as a software engineer working on enterprise software and a proven track record of having shipped commercially successful software products & services. Ability to nurture and grow talent. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Software Engineers, Program Managers, Security researchers, and Data Scientists. 3+ years of experience leading and building teams. 7+ years of experience designing system applications on Linux. 7+ years of experience in development principles and patterns. (Optional) 7+ years of experience building kernel modules for Linux. (Optional) Contributions to Linux Open Source in the kernel space. Familiar with Linux Internals and experience in building Linux products. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. Familiar with secure software development life cycle. Experience with software development tools such as source control systems (GIT), automated build systems, compilers, software validation systems, project tracking, and lifecycle management systems. Work independently, drive and manage technical and architectural dependencies. BS or MS degree in Computer Science

Responsibilities

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead, mentor, and grow a team of talented and diverse engineers who are versed in delivering products that thrive with deep customer value. You will partner with other Engineering Managers, Architects, and leaders from other disciplines to build sustainable team, create an Engineering culture that helps deliver products that our customers love. You will work across teams, collaborating with partner teams to create innovative solutions for protecting Linux servers through Microsoft Defender for Endpoint product helping grow the business. You will be required to provide leadership, create engineering rigor, maintain data and results driven culture, nurture a team culture of high collaboration and trust, and drive Microsoft Security products adoption.
