We arelooking for engineers with hands on electrical design experienceacross the project lifecycle from concept design throughconstruction to commissioning and handover. You will be relied onas a subject matter expert in the electrical engineering field. AtAmazon we highly support continued learning opportunities and focuson continued employee development.
You must be able towork within a team and depend on others to accomplish the requiredwork. As an electrical engineer at Amazon you will be working withother internal groups as well as external groups includingutilities manufacturers vendors consultants andcontractors.
Amazon has a global presence andfollowing COVID travel restrictions a 25% travel will be expectedas part of this role. Projects will be throughout the region and adegree of international travel and support will benecessary.

As an engineer within our team youwill spend a regular part of your time analyzing and improvingevery aspect of our value stream.
The Electrical Engineerwill be responsible for the following:
Work with internalteams to understand and respond to evolving userrequirements.
Lead Data center electrical designs incollaboration with other disciplines to create a coordinatedconstruction document set.
Participate in site selectionreviews.
Critical Data Center equipment design includingsitewide MV infrastructure Generators Uninterruptible PowerSupplies Switchgear Transformers and Earthing.
Creation of designs which meet or exceed our quality requirementsand fall within our budgetary requirements.
Work withregional vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriateelectrical equipment.
Work with local utilities tounderstand and define site utility requirements.
Workwith local agencies having jurisdiction to ensure compliance withIEC requirements the various APAC wide design codes and otherjuristictional requirements.
Review and approval ofequipment submittals.
Define project scope and providetechnical support for information requests prior to and duringconstruction phases.
Work with commissioning teams toproperly test and validate installation operation and performanceof electrical systems.
Ability to work on concurrentprojects in multiple geographical regions.
Travel tosites for site review and work with onsite field engineers as wellas provide engineering evaluations electrical systems audits andstartup as needed.
Be a leader within the global group aswell as within internal and external teams that support Amazonsdata centers.

Mumbai MHIND
Degree in an Electrical Engineering.
Cumulative 6 yearsof experience with mission critical electricaldesign.
Comprehensive understanding of thevarious code requirements across the APACregion.
Fundamental understanding of criticalMV and LV electrical equipment.
Possess leadership andproblem solving skills.
Be a motivated highly dependableindividual.
Ability to research new designs technologiesand construction methods of data center equipment andfacilities.
Ability to carry new design concepts throughexploration development and into deployment/construction.
An ability and willingness to think outside of the box to findcreative and innovative solutions to reduce costs with no impact onquality reliability or maintainability.
The ability toperform complex business case analysis to justify technicaldecisions and present the justification to management in a highlevel review.
Possess excellent communication skillsattention to detail maintain high qualitystandards.
Chartered Engineer
Masters degree in an Electrical Engineering.
3 years ofexperience directly related to data center or mission criticalfacility design.
Detailed understanding of MV systemmodelling relays protections schemes circuit breakers power anddistribution transformers electrical switchgear grounding andearthing.
Previous consultant negotiation and managementskills associated with design construction and projectexecution.
Experience with fast track design/buildprojects and or multiple significant upgrade projects.
Experience with large scale technical operations or largescalecompute farms.
Knowledge of building codes andregulations.
