Overview:As an RNCVICUPeds (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Pediatrics) you willplay a crucial role in providing specialized nursing care topediatric patients with cardiovascular conditions. Yourresponsibilities will encompass managing and monitoring criticallyill children and adolescents working closely with amultidisciplinary team and delivering highquality care in afastpaced environment.KeyResponsibilities:
  • Assessing anddocumenting the condition of pediatric patients in theCVICU
  • Administering medications and treatmentsas prescribed
  • Monitoring and interpretingcritical vital signs and cardiacrhythms
  • Collaborating with physicians andhealthcare team members
  • Preparing and updatingindividualized care plans
  • Providing educationalsupport to patients and families
  • Participatingin emergency response and resuscitationefforts
  • Ensuring adherence to infection controland safety protocols
  • Utilizing advancedtechnology to deliver specializedcare
  • Contributing to the research anddevelopment of pediatric cardiaccare
  • Maintaining accurate and thorough medicalrecords
  • Participating in continuousprofessional development andtraining

RequiredQualifications:
  • Valid RN license inthe specified state
  • Bachelor of Science inNursing (BSN) or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 yearsof experience in pediatric CVICU or relatedsetting
  • Certification in Pediatric AdvancedLife Support (PALS)
  • Proficiency in pediatricpatient assessment and care planning
  • Ability toremain composed and decisive in highstresssituations
  • Strong communication andcollaboration skills
  • Knowledge of cardiacmedications and interventions for pediatricpatients
  • Familiarity with advancedtechnological equipment used in CVICUsettings
  • Commitment to upholding ethical andprofessional standards in nursing
  • Demonstrateddedication to pediatric patient advocacy and familycenteredcare
  • Flexibility to work various shiftsincluding nights and weekends
  • Ability to meetthe physical demands of the role in a pediatric healthcaresetting
