JobSummary:

Under thesupervision of the Director of Clinical Operations the nursemanager shares 24hour accountability and additional responsibilityfor the effective and efficient operation of the Medical Surgicaldepartment. Functions will be performed in accordance with thenurse practitioner in a manner consistent with the mission andgoals of the organization.

What YouWill Be Doing This Role:

Ensures patient/personal safety by maintaining a safe andtherapeutic environment and adhering to Safety Program andInfection Control Programs.

Assures quality of care through compliance withdepartmental policies hospital and external regulatory agencyguidelines.

Acceptsresponsibility for assurance that quality patient care is providedconsistently according to hospital and departmental standards andpolicies/procedures.

Acceptsaccountability and responsibility for achievement of operationaland capital budget goals.

Shares 24hour accountability and responsibility with thevice president of cardiac services for the effective and efficientoperation of CVOR and CVICU.

Maintains clinical management competency and professionalgrowth.

Qualifications:

35 year of Recent Acute Care Leadershipexperience within Unit REQUIRED.Graduate of an accredited professional school ofnursing; Baccalaureate degree in nursingrequired. RN with currentlicensure or RN with temporary permit to practice from the Board ofNurse Examiners for the State of Texas.Current BCLS certification.Current ACLS certification.Prefer national certification in area ofexpertise (CCRN CNA CCRN).
