This is a remote position.

We are seeking a SoftwareEngineer to join our team.TheCore Software team is a highperformance engineering teamresponsible for building the fundamental software to manage theONTAP software product. You will work as part of a team responsiblefor the development testing and debugging of distributed software.Thisposition requires an individual to be broadthinking andsystemsfocused creative teamoriented technologically savvy able tolead large crossfunctional teams and driven to produceresults.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible fornonroutine and unstructured tasks requiring creative solutions withmore interdependencies and with processes that are lessdefined.
  • The individual workson complex problems with partially defined largerscope.
  • May work with teamsacross the company in problem solving and designefforts.
  • The individual willbegin to develop a technicalspecialty.

  • Responsible forproviding support in development and testing activities of otherengineers that involve severalinterdependencies.
  • Participate intechnical discussions within the team and with other groups withinBusiness Units associated with specifiedprojects.
  • Willing to work onadditional tasks and responsibilities that will contribute towardsteam department and companygoals
  • Provide guidance andmentoring to more juniorengineers.
  • A strongunderstanding of concepts related to computer architecture datastructures and programmingpractices.
  • System/Kernelprogrammingexperience.
  • Knowledge ofFilesystems.
    Experience with Networking and file/cloudprotocols.
  • Excellent codingskills inC/C.
  • Strong oral andwritten communication skills areessential.
  • Work collaborativelywithin a team environment of other engineers to meet aggressivegoals and high quality standards. Possesses sufficient technicalknowledge and experience to pick up new expertise quickly withguidance from a technicalleader.
  • Strong aptitude forlearning newtechnologies.
  • Follow standardengineering principles andpractices.
  • Resourceful inapplying creative ideas to solveproblems.

Interaction:
  • Work effectively withstaff to senior manager level employees within the function and thetechnical team on assigned projects. There may be communicationwith employees in other functions within Business Units asrequired.
  • Work independentlywith minimal guidance from other Senior members of theteam.

Requirements
  • Typicallyrequires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelorsdegree.
  • 6years and a Master sdegree.
  • PhDwith 3 years experience; or equivalentexperience.
