Justification
The Senior Solution Security Engineer position has been crafted to address the critical need for a seasoned professional who can design, implement, and oversee robust security solutions at Calyx.
This role is pivotal in ensuring that our applications and infrastructure adhere to the highest security standards, safeguarding sensitive information and maintaining the integrity of our technological landscape.
The Senior Solution Security Engineer will play a key role in fortifying our defence mechanisms, anticipating potential threats, designing appropriate risk management frameworks, and orchestrating comprehensive security controls to keep pace with evolving cyber threats. This position is integral to our commitment to maintaining a secure and resilient environment for our external stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities:
Support Security Strategy & Planning
Aligns solutions to the organization’s strategic security roadmap. Suggests and recommends security controls, procedures, and best practices to protect solution architecture.Solution Assessment and Risk Management
Conducts periodic assessments of existing solutions to identify vulnerabilities and potential risks. Develops risk management framework suitable for respective solutions and recommends controls to mitigate identified risks.Security Architecture and Design
Collaborates with development teams to review security gaps in the design and recommend architecture solutions qualifying acceptable security posture. Ensures security is considered in the entire solution development lifecycle.Security Compliance and Governance
Ensures solutions comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal security policies. Monitors and enforces adherence to security compliance standards.Incident Response and Resolution
Develops and executes incident response plans depending on the solution and exercises it in the event of security breaches or threats to solutions. Investigates solution security incidents, assess the impact, and execute corrective actions to mitigate potential damages.Security Awareness and Training
Provides guidance and training to development teams to foster a security-aware culture. Drives educational programs and initiatives to enhance security awareness among solution stakeholders.Security Monitoring and Analysis
Analyses security logs and data to identify patterns or anomalies that could indicate a security threat toward the solution. Develop plans suitable to triage during an event of a successful compromise of a solution.Collaboration and Communication
Liaises with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and management to effectively convey security-related information and strategies related to solution security. Collaborates with external security partners or vendors to enhance solution security.Continuous Improvement and Innovation
Stay updated with the latest security trends, technologies, and best practices. Proposes and implements innovative security solutions to improve the overall security posture of solutions.Documentation and Reporting
Maintains comprehensive documentation of solution architecture across products/applications, security measures, incidents, and resolutions. Prepares and presents regular reports to management regarding solution security status, challenges, and improvements.Skills:

Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices Proficiency in security tools, frameworks, and methodologies related to solution security. Ability to conduct risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and develop strategies to mitigate security risks in technological solutions. Project management abilities to manage security projects and initiatives efficiently. Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to enhance solution security. Strong analytical abilities to analyse security logs, assess security threats, and make informed decisions for resolution.Knowledge and Experience:
Demonstrable experience in formulating and implementing security strategies and roadmaps for solution security enhancement. Demonstrable experience in Application testing, and production testing. Experience with Penetration testing. Experience in Threat Modelling & OSWAP. Experience in SAST & DAST testing. Demonstrates familiarity with security compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST) and regulatory requirements relevant to solution security. In-depth knowledge of solution security, including risk management, secure design, secure coding practices, encryption, and authentication mechanisms Good knowledge of conducting regular risk assessments and developing strategies to mitigate potential security risks identified within the technological solutions. Proficient knowledge of ensuring solutions comply with industry standards, legal requirements, and internal security policies. Professional understanding of maintaining comprehensive documentation of security measures, incidents, and resolutions.Education:
A master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Industry certification such as CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), or other relevant security certification would be an added advantage.Come as you are.
