This position will be in support of the NYS Tax ModernizationProgram. This program will encompass multiple projects to modernizelegacy systems within the NYS Department of Taxation and Financewhich is responsible for billions in state revenue. Responsibilities:

• Obtain businessrequirements to develop automated applications which meet businesspriorities.
• Provide lead programming dutiesfor tax related applications.
• Develop andmentor staff using various technologies including J2EE Spring JSONJavaScript and JDBC .
• Develop and reviewdetailed documentation for system and program change requirementincluding detail specifications documents.
• Assist and provide guidance through all phases of theproject management life cycle.
• Develop unittest plans based on coding changes and user specifications. Conductunit testing and debugging of all code changes in the developmentenvironment.
• Coordinate the migration of allcode changes (programs procedures etc.) from developmentenvironment into user test environment.
• Assist team members using distributed technologiesincluding Java DB2 XML and XQuery. Ensure that staff members areproperly trained and mentored.
• Providesupport as needed for defects and issue resolution. Ensure thatdefects and issues are addressed promptly based on priority.
• Facilitate and participate in meetings withITS and DTF customers.
• Communicate clearlyboth verbally and in writing with DTF management and users ITSmanagement and team members.

RequiredSkills:

• 60 monthsexperience with J2EE technologies including JDBC JSP andXML.
• 60 months experience developing buildingand testing Java EE applications using modern IDEs such as EclipseNetBeans or IntelliJ.
• 60 months experienceusing J2EE frameworks such as Spring or struts and ApplicationServers such as Tomcat JBoss WebSphere or WebLogic.
• 60 months experience writing SQL statements forrelational databases.
• 36 months of experiencein messaging technologies such as MQ JMS Kafka.
• 60 months of experience in system analysis and design ofmultitiered transactional systems.
