Reports to DBA Team Manager

Duties include: 

Technical and functional knowledge mastery of EZ database applications, data flows, and business usages  Evaluating architectures of EZ database systems against best practices and industry standards  Advanced support for the EZ database infrastructure – incident and problem management, troubleshooting, and proactive potential problem identification  Database development and partner in continued application development and support process development 

Details 

Master the business-critical SQL Server environment from a support and future enhancements perspective. Work closely with developers to understand the technical and functional details needed to create support documentation. Provide 2nd/3rd level support for EZ SQL Server environment, including incident and escalations, problem management, and communication with internal customers for database-related problems. Direct ongoing performance tuning of EZ applications, including the design and development of database systems. Perform trend analysis and capacity management reporting with IT leadership and team members.  Lead DB team involvement in the EZ customer care program, including continuously enhancing helpdesk and technical support processes, tools, and communication.

Position Requirements 

Three to five years’ experience of MS SQL Server database administration Thorough understanding of database administration, operation, and maintenance activities.  Thorough understanding of handling large OLTP databases (>1 TB) to support mission-critical business processes in a 24/7 production environment. Experience with SQL Server 64-bit architecture SQL Server Clustering (Active/Passive), Resource Groups, Failback strategies, Disaster Recovery SQL Replication technologies (Peer to Peer) & Merge Installation and patching of SQL Instances Hands-on support of the VLDB environment, including, but not limited to, ETL and data integration, data quality, and documentation  Hands-on experience with SQL Server 2016 or above for backup/recovery, query tuning, indexing, SQL scripting, access and permission management, configuration tuning, physical database design, health, and performance monitoring, SQL scheduled jobs, maintenance plans, full-text indexes, replication, mirroring, log shipping, and point-in-time recovery.  Able to work on SSIS, SSRS, PowerShell, SQLCmd and SQL Configuration Manager  Automating, maintaining, and updating ongoing operational processes Good understanding of Windows 2012 or above operating systems, event logs, task scheduler, etc SQL Script creation for operations and development support Perform system optimization and continuous improvement planning, including SQL Server database performance analysis, capacity planning, system sizing, and ongoing maintenance/tuning Experience in the implementation of security policies and security audits  Well organized and open to work as part of a global team Knowledge and experience of SSIS package development, Quest tools like Lightspeed, Red Gate SQL Tools, Azure managed SQL instance, Azure Data Factory, Azure Monitoring, and PowerShell programming will be a plus  Highly motivated, goal-oriented, quick learner, and committed to the quality of deliverables, timelines and teamwork  Continuous learning and skill enhancement is of high importance. ·Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

Education & Certification 

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline  Microsoft Certified SQL Database Administrator
