What does Lead Tech Product Delivery (Database Operations) group responsible for?

As part of the Database operations support team, you will be responsible for managing, guiding and mentoring database engineers from both Franklin as well our outsourced provider.

The Tech Product Delivery team acts as a bridge between application and database engineering teams in providing technical support solutions that are focused on providing our partners with the highest quality services#MID_SENIOR_LEVEL

What is the Lead Tech Product Delivery responsible for?

Franklin services scale globally, are highly available, and are resilient with business continuity. This position works closely with application development and DB Engineering while taking the lead in designing database systems that meet complex business requirements. We establish guidelines that align database infrastructure with enterprise architecture. We work closely with Application Development groups to understand their data needs and partner with DB Engineering, DevOps, Enterprise Architecture, Testing, Operations and Cloud Architecture teams to enable self-service and automation, while practicing and promoting reliability engineering principles. Working closely with the Global Information Security team we implement consistent strategies for database security, maintain database security posture and respond to internal and external auditory requirements.

This position is the perfect bridge between a technical role and a managerial one. The position oversees very technical aspects of operating our database environment, oversees/manages the delivery from our outsourced provider, and ensures that operational requirements are met by our engineering teams. 

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, or the equivalent combination of training and work experience.

15+ years of DBA experience

Experience in leading DB team.

10+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle, Exadata/ExaCC, AWS RDS etc. 

10+ years of hands-on experience with different operating systems (Linux, AIX, Solaris, Windows) and database storage systems, etc. 

Solid working experience in database migrations to cloud technologies (Oracle/ AWS/ Azure ).

Strong understanding of database architecture, security including Cloud and On-prem databases like Oracle, Progress, Amazon Aurora, SQL Server, PostgreSQL.

Strong understanding of tools such as OEM, RMAN, Cohesity is highly desirable.

Experience with scripting languages like Shell and Plsql is highly desirable.

Experience in managing internal and external audits/responding to auditors is a plus.

Experience and exposure to automation tools like Bamboo/Jenkins/Ansible etc. is a plus.

Experience in leading teams spread across multiple locations across multiple time zones.

Concurrently manage multiple projects and take delivery ownership for initiatives of varying size and scope.

Proven ability to take initiative and work under pressure in a dynamic environment.

Advocate point of view to management and stake holders and influence the adoption of database technology strategies and initiatives.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills as well as strong logical, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Work Shift Timing - 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM IST
