How You Will Contribute:

Responsible for developing & maintaining Automation Infrastructure, Automation test plans & scripts, maintaining test scripts and analyzing test results for Ciena’s Optical portfolio based on Photonics /ROADM/WDM & OTN Technologies.

Design and develop automation libraries, test cases/suites, and collaborate with the Test Team to meet system-based test requirements for any of these areas Photonics /ROADM/WDM, Optical Control Plane etc. Develop Automation Libraries for measuring instruments, including JDSU, IXIA, and others. Offer real-time support to the test team for their AAMT based scenarios. Ongoing maintenance & enhancements of the Python-based test automation framework. Perform diagnostic analysis and troubleshoot complex software issues for resolution.

The Must Haves:

Proficient software programming skills in Python within both Linux and Windows environments. Hands-on experience with NBIs Libraries (REST, NETCONF, gRPC) and familiarity with Commercial Test Set Equipment Libraries is advantageous. Familiarity with DevOps tools such as GIT, Jenkins, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, Ansible, and related technologies is an asset. Object-oriented software design experience is a plus. Knowledge in Telecom and Datacom systems, Ethernet networking & fiber optic transport systems in general. Highly skilled in the analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex issues. Solid understanding & experience with test automation concepts, practices, and procedures. Ability to work and adapt to multi-site global R&D environment.
