Automated Test Engineer/AutomatedTester

Selected candidatemust reside within two (2) hours of SSA Headquarters in WoodlawnMD. Selected candidate must be willing to work onsite at least 2days a week.

Key RequiredSkills:

  • Strong experiencein automating APIlevel tests knowledgeable of HTTP architecture andauthentication for APIs experienced in using Git for versioncontrol and using Eclipse or Visual Studio to write automated testsalso experienced in training/mentor
  • AssistApplication teams with the development of Automated API and UItests using the Parasoft suite of tools in an IntegratedDevelopment Environment (IDE)
  • Train and mentorproject teams on automated testing strategies and tools helpingwith setup and configuration of automation frameworks.
  • Brief management customer team or vendors using writtenor oral skills at an appropriate technical level for theaudience.
  • Independently and/or collaborativelyresearch problems and provide solutions.
  • Prepare or update documentation as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned or directed.

SkillsRequirements:

FOUNDATION FORSUCCESS (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science MathematicsEngineering or a related field or equivalent relevantexperience
  • Masters or Doctorate degree maysubstitute for required experience.
  • 7 years ofautomated testing experience developing with TestNG RESTAssuredProtractor Selenium or Postman
  • Must be able toobtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.

  • Must have strong experience with automating APIleveltests.
  • Experience with automating UI leveltests.
  • Knowledgeable of HTTParchitecture.
  • Knowledge of authentication forAPIs.
  • Comfortable with Git for version control(cloning forking commits branching pull requests etc.).
  • Experienced in using an Integrated DevelopmentEnvironment (IDE) to write automated tests (Eclipse VisualStudio).
  • Trains and mentors project teams ontesting strategies and tools assisting them in setup andconfiguration of test automation frameworks.
  • Provides technical support to project teams assists indebugging in their test automation frameworks or automated testcode.
  • Must be detail oriented and ananalytical and creative thinker with a passion for quality and testautomation.
  • Works independently takingownership of the task allocated without too muchsupervision.
  • Research automated test toolsbest practices methodologies and trends to recommend improvementsto existing practices and processes.
  • Excellentverbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer relations skills.

HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD(Desired Skills)

  • Showcaseyour knowledge of modern development through the followingexperience or skills:
  • Experience with ParasoftPostman or ReadyAPI.
  • Experience implementingtest automation frameworks across multiple application platformssuch as Mobile Desktop Web and Cloud.
  • Designsand develops test automation solutions using common testingframeworks such as TestNG RESTAssured Protractor Selenium andPostman.
  • Experience designing managing andimplementing automated test suites as part of an automatedcontinuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment (CI/CD)pipeline.
  • Understanding of ObjectOrientedDesign patterns & Principles (SOLID Page Object Model) and howthey apply to automated test code.
  • Can code inat least one scripting or programming language (.NET JavaJavaScript).
  • Understands the practice ofBehavior Driven Development (BDD) and have experience usingCucumber writing both the gherkin feature files and the Java stepdefinitions.

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree inComputer Science Mathematics Engineering or a related field orequivalent relevant experience with 3 years ofexperience
  • Must be able to obtain and maintaina Public Trust. Contract requirement.
