Design Engineer is responsible for design & development of API 6D trunnion mounted ball valves product line. In this position, you will design and develop a new ball valve product line to support our global growth targets.
Design engineer is responsible for activities like
Conceptualize innovative ideas, experiment proof of concept design, prototype build & test Mechanical engineering design and calculations, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance, Tolerance Stack Up Analysis Manufacturing drawing creation, BOM, Instruction manual and testing procedure Co-ordinating with supplier and production for sample development. Prepare technical files for certifications like PED, API, SIL etc. Interact with Product Manager for better understanding of customer`s requirement. Closely work with global product centers to apply best engineering practices Run DFMEA, DFM, DFA and contribute to design reviews Maintains engineering documentation in support of product design, company standards, and regulatory requirements through the appropriate Product Data Management systemsRELATIONSHIPS & AUTHORITY
Report to Lead Design Engineer – Ball valves Work closely with team but also with product managers and with production organization (e.g. assembly, machining).QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Engineering (BE / BTech) in Mechanical Engineering, and around 4 -6 years related engineering experience. Basic engineering (solid & fluid) mechanics and have prior experience in industrial ball valve product development and engineering. Experience of working on cryogenic valves is preferred. Knowledge of process industry, basic metallurgy & heat treatment, PTFE/O-rings, plating/coatings and valves are considered as an asset. Familiar with design tools SolidWorks and AutoCAD, PLM/EPDM packages, ASME/API/EN codes and standards. Comfortable with working in international company and speak/write professionally in good English. Agile way of working & methodical approach and an eye for detail engineering Capable of working independently and willing to make decisions based on sound engineering practice/judgement..
