About therole

The Jewellery &Precious Stones Expert is recognised for his/her exceptionalexpertise in the field and his/her outsized commercial network inIndia.
He/She contributes significantly to drivingprofitable growth with high impact for the category and beyond.He/She is a master in commercial and curation management thanks tothe longstanding experience and can act as the core engine behindthe successful development of the category business. The successfulcandidate can build strong working relationships with the teamthrough guidance coaching feedback best practice sharing andsupport. He/She does not have managerial responsibilities is amember of the category team and reports to the CategoryManager.

  • Build a strongcommercial network within the existing and new sellers base activeon Catawiki in the Indian market
  • Leverage theunderstanding of seller needs and Catawiki commercial incentiveschemes to create winwin solutions
  • Providequality assurance of auctions by maintaining high standards ofcuration especially within the exclusive range of thecategory
  • Elevate the teams curation by sharingexceptional expertise
  • Leverage expertisethrough sharing knowledge at crossdepartmentallevel
  • Proactively propose improvements toquality guidelines RP management strategies and other processes andsupport the team in the effectiveimplementation
  • Monitor supply levels versusbudget and recommending solutions whereapplicable.
  • Contribute to the categorycommercial strategy in reaching weekly and quarterlybudgets
  • Encourage an inclusive environment byengaging and motivating theteam
What youllbring
  • Minimum 5 yearsexperience in a Jewellery & Precious Stones industryspecifically in the Indian market
  • Highspecialisation in Diamonds (both Colourless and Natural FancyColoured) is a must
  • Longstanding experience inBuying & Selling Jewellery & Precious Stones inthe Indian market
  • Solid understanding of tradepractices and commercial dynamics at Internationallevel
  • Exceptional expertise in the fielddeveloped over the years of professional experience in combinationwith formal education: gemmology degree from a wellrecognisedInternational Institute is required (eg. GIA HRDIGI).
  • Deep knowledge of laboratory reportsstandards
  • Confidence in handling challengingcommercial dynamics and negotiations aimed at optimisinginventories and maximising the categorygrowth
  • Deep knowledge of trade prices in orderto comfortably assess discuss or object (if needed) the quality ofobjects submitted with the team and with external partners(Sellers)
  • Working in a targetdrivenenvironment
  • Willingness to work remotely in afully digitalbased environment
  • Customerorientedapproach
  • Excellent communication andpresentation skills inEnglish
