Process definition and implementation (40%)

  • Defines (in coordination with the head of the department) and formalizes the optimal process for the delivery of goods and services considering the customer’s expectations, internal constraints, and regulations,

Logistic Management  

  • Ensures the optimization of transport and anticipates potential problems in terms of costs, timing, and customer satisfaction, 
  • Identifies and selects potential new transportation companies/carriers for Road Transportation that are out of the scope of the Global Logistics Contracts,
  • Identifies the possibilities of external packing and warehousing activities and generates relative planning.
  • Advises the front end (throughout the sales fulfillment process) and the ComOps organization on all issues relative to shipment, logistics, incoterms and customs, country-specific export regulations, delivery terms issues, define guidelines,
  • Prepares ad hoc internal reports,

Organization of the expeditions (40%)

  • Liaison with Customs and CHA for all Imports and Export-related consignments.
  • Handles the follow-up of customs documents and the bonded warehouse,
  • Handles the follow-up of the shipments and claims in case of problems,
  • Leads the team in identifying, distributing, and balancing workload and tasks in accordance with the established workflow and skill level of the team.

Performance & process improvements (20%)

  • Analyzes the process, identifies, and analyses potential improvements, and makes appropriate recommendations.
  • Implement, monitor, and report on the status and progress of work (KPI),
  • Analyses the performance of transportation companies, compares prices, and takes subsequent actions,
  • Keeps the company knowledge about logistics, regulations, and customs up to date;

Warehouse management (40%)

  • Oversees storage and movement of materials from the reception of materials to the expedition of finished goods to end customers,
  • Timely preparation of Goods Receipt Notes (GRN)
  • Coordinates with all other production sections to have products moved back and forth for manufacturing operations until the product is completed as scheduled,
  • Organizes the warehousing of TDW products, inventories, and supplies to facilitate safe storage of inventory, timely shipments, and maximum utilization of the space,
  • Ensure products and raw materials are stored and preserved free of defect and corrosion.
  • Lead team for all statutory audits.
  • Manages and maintains the scrap yard for scrap disposal as per TDW and Statutory guideline

Organization of expeditions (40%)

  • Plans the expeditions based on the information received from the planning department and makes appropriate anticipations and groupings,
  • Organizes the department, distributes, and prioritizes the tasks for the team and coordinates the needs/information with the other departments,
  • Prepares ad hoc internal reports,

Inventory (10%)

  • Ensure the accuracy of the inventory and ensure that all stock movements are recorded in the ERP system,
  • Analyze and justify any stock differential.
  • Initiates leads, and ensures continuous improvements in the process.
  • Ensures that the organization follows the 5S standards,
  • Analyses the performance of transportation companies, compares prices, and takes subsequent actions,
  • Keeps the company's knowledge about traffic and customs up to date.

Team management (10%)

  • Plans, supervises, and controls the team’s activities in order to achieve yearly objectives,
  • Assigns workload and serves as technical advisor for resolution of complex issues,
  • Selects, evaluates, motivates, and develops employees to ensure a qualified workforce necessary to meet company objectives, while complying with local employment guidelines

Relationships with others

  • Reports to the Plant Manager,
  • Liaises with the different departments like Coms Ops, Quality, Operations, Accounting, and Warehouse as well as with the front-end organization and other HT&P organizations to exchange information, prepare the planning, organize the expeditions, and solve problems,
  • Provides advice on work methods, practices, and procedures, and assists the team and/or individual members in identifying the parameters of a viable solution.
  • Share expertise with the team on selecting and applying appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques.

Knowledge, skills & abilities required ​

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years experience in logistics and warehouse management.
  • Sound knowledge of traffic/transport and customs matters,
  • Fluent in Gujarati, Hindi, English, any other language is an asset,
  • Leadership and organizational skills, proactivity,
  • Problem-solving competencies, highly developed analytical, conceptual, and entrepreneurial thinking,
  • Very good knowledge of customs/excises and VAT at international level,
  • IT literate.
