Role

Rystad Energy is seeking ambitious and motivated candidates with a strong academic record, an analytical mindset, and good communication skills for the Renewables & Power team. Candidates with 0-4 years of experience can apply with a strong inclination to work in the renewable energy sector. The Renewables & Power team is responsible for maintaining and developing our database and products covering the entire renewables & power energy space and is critical to achieving our company's ambition of becoming a prominent advisory firm in the energy transition. The role involves collecting, modeling, and analyzing data to provide clients with insights into long-term electricity markets, including renewable energy sources (such as solar, wind, geothermal, and hydro), conventional sources (such as gas and coal), energy storage, and the low carbon supply chain. You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with our team, consultants, and business developers in our global offices

Tasks

  • Analyze renewables & power markets to understand historical power generation by source and available capacity.
  • Gather, process, analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources for renewable assets.
  • Maintain and regularly update databases with the most up-to-date information.
  • Examine country energy policies to support forecasting the future power mix.
  • Develop new forecast models and processes to analyze our data.
  • Contribute and write client commentaries and reports.
  • Participate in external and internal presentations.
  • Contribute to sales and business development over time.
  • Engage with clients to demonstrate our research and analyses.
  • Travel when needed for research trips, client engagement, and business development support.

Requirements

We are looking for a motivated candidate with a solid academic track record and analytical mindset to strengthen our capacity within Renewables & Power Research

  • Graduates with max 0-4 years of experience.
  • Strong academic track record in relevant education fields (e.g. engineering, finance, economics, math, data science).
  • Desire to work with both the technical and financial aspects of the energy market.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on attitude.
  • Outstanding ability to synthesize data and information coming from multiple sources (quantitative and qualitative).
  • Solid proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interest in or direct work experience in the energy sector.
  • Fluent in English; other languages are a plus.
