Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Responsible for both the Financial Control and Planning & Analysis functions for the lending desk Assist with ad hoc reporting for management reporting purposes Timely escalation of issues/concerns Provide cover for team members during periods of absence

Financial Control specific:

Reporting daily P&L for the lending business Taking ownership of the income statement and balance sheet Preparation of monthly balance sheet substantiation files for the lending business Posting monthly journals for the lending desk and ensuring a WD3 close Responsible for FX exposure monitoring Monthly valuation process in Chi for the Fair Value booked loans & Bonds, analysing the movements and drivers and posting the valuation in the ledger Preparation of annual and semi-annual financial statement disclosure packs for the lending business Preparation of quarterly Fin Rep and Bank of England reporting packs for lending to Group Finance Audit and Group Finance queries during annual and interim audits Performing reconciliation between ledger, source systems and risk/capital systems, including investigation and resolution of breaks Reconciliation of inter-divisional and intercompany balances Maintenance of monthly equity investment valuation documentation, and gathering research to support investment valuation Maintenance of fee income and investment income schedule for the aviation desk

Planning & Analysis specific:

Drive the reporting of business performance, forecasting and budgeting Monthly variance analysis – provide commentary and breakdowns on income statement and balance sheet movements Monthly production of client P&L analysis and loan movement analysis for the lending business Monthly analysis of impairments at a deal and desk level and analysis of allocated and direct costs

Tax specific:

Liaise with tax consultants to ensure that all corporate actions, fresh investment and redemption for Investments made via FPI license are smooth Ensure direct tax and transfer pricing related tax returns are accurately & timely file to Indian tax authorities Assist business & UK tax team with any tax queries on investments made via FPI license

Technical skills and knowledge:

Part-qualified/newly qualified accountant Financial and Management Accounting knowledge for a banking business Systematic approach in analysing and solving problems with good attention to detail Intermediate Excel and data manipulation skills

Self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work without close supervision with an ability to work in a changing environment An ability to deliver on timelines and communicate appropriately to those time lines Strong organisational ability combined with a proactive approach Relationship and communication skills : Ability to create and maintain strong relationships with key interfaces. Ability to communicate the business requirements and interact appropriately in a stretch team scenario. Personable and confident manner; a team player To act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly (compulsory)

Regulatory and Investec Specific knowledge- Understand the relevant regulations and a knowledge of Investec procedures and compliance protoco
