Role Overview:
We seek a Senior UX Designer (Accessibility Specialist) to work on-site at our client’s location. In this pivotal role, you will drive accessibility and inclusive design practices across web, iOS, and Android platforms, ensuring that digital products meet the highest accessibility standards. This position requires hands-on collaboration with the client’s teams and stakeholders to foster a culture of inclusion and create user experiences that are accessible to all.
What you will do
Advocate for Accessibility: Act as an on-site advocate for accessibility and inclusive design, influencing stakeholders to prioritize accessibility in product strategies and roadmaps.
Develop Inclusive Designs: Create inclusive and effective product designs, prototypes, and mockups that align with accessibility standards and user-centric principles.
Resolve Accessibility Challenges: Serve as the go-to expert for resolving advanced accessibility issues, offering actionable solutions aligned with WCAG 2.1/2.2 standards.
Empower Teams: Provide coaching and mentorship to empower client teams to design and deliver inclusive and effective user experiences.
Deliver Training Programs: Design and deliver targeted accessibility training sessions to educate client teams and promote best practices throughout the organization.
Integrate Automation Tools: Introduce and implement accessibility automation tools into the client’s workflows, ensuring streamlined processes and consistent compliance with accessibility standards.
Document Accessibility Standards: Create and maintain accessibility documentation, including annotations, specifications, and guidelines to support ongoing product development.
Requirements
What will you bring along
A deep commitment to creating equitable experiences and driving accessibility in digital product design.
3-5 years of experience in accessibility UX Design or similar roles, with hands-on expertise in creating inclusive user experiences.
Strong understanding of web/mobile accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1/2.2). Familiarity with assistive technologies like screen readers (e.g., NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack) and accessibility testing tools.
Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders to prioritize accessibility initiatives
Creative thinking to address complex accessibility challenges and develop effective, user-focused solutions..
Experience designing and delivering accessibility training and advocating for organizational change to prioritize inclusivity.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse audiences.
IAAP certifications (CPACC, WAS, or CPWA) are a Plus.
