What is this role, really?
  • At GrowthX, the Creative Studio is working to build a media house. We deeply believe in the role of content to build an audience and are suckers for the nuances of delivering it.
  • We’re looking for a bar-raiser Video Editor to join us. You are knowledgeable yet open to new ideas, and the thought of a messy Premiere project enrages you. We push the boundaries daily and seek someone who wants to do the same.
  • Above all else, our ideal candidate must be adaptable and thrive under pressure. Candidates who want to exceed our expectations will obsess over marrying their knowledge and skill set into our culture and content formats.
  • The Video Editor will primarily build the long-form and short-form content engine. This will involve working on assets built exclusively for GrowthX members. For example, a GrowthX member built a 100-crore event pipeline at their organization after learning about Event-Led Growth. Imagine creating outcome-based content like that.
  • You will create exclusive content for our members, who are founders, product leaders, marketing leaders, and business people.
  • The Video Editor is key to bringing big ideas to life. They are internet savants, storytellers, scientists, and conduits for trending things. While they are creatively inspired by their surroundings, they must also have a unique ability to understand the business impact content has.
  • Our ideal candidate for this role will have a duality to their personality. They will be limitless in idea generation and also need to be able to work within our proven video formats. This position will have a huge learning curve, creating content watched by the top 1% of leaders, founders, investors & operators from the startup ecosystem.
What you’ll be doing?
  • Be obsessed with retention on video
  • Understand nuances of designing to enable learning
  • Understand video flow and story structures in depth
  • Craft long-form as well as short-form edits that are smooth to consume
  • Work daily with Producers and Writers to create an end-to-end content pipeline: from pre-production (scripting, storyboarding), production (shooting, set design) to post-production
  • Turn ideas into action while incorporating the GrowthX brand into all elements
  • Edit long-form as well as short-form video videos + repurpose them for other social platforms
  • Be creative yet systematic in your approach to delivering great work
  • Some visual and writing references that we closely relate with on long-form are Masterclass & Outlier. This does not mean we hate other products. We like how they depict the form & function while ensuring it’s educational. We have strong views of what is great quality content & matches the sense of taste in the team.
Where can this role evolve?

  • This role for the video editor will involve ownership of building the long-form and short-form content pipeline at GrowthX.
  • This role requires a thorough understanding of brand guidelines, brand tone, and, most importantly, design principles and video editing rules.
  • The editor must be capable of creative thinking and demonstrating ideas through design.
  • Should have great taste in sound design and colour grading according to the mood and atmosphere to emphasize the story's key moments.
  • Initially, you will build and scale current IPs. However, eventually, you will transition to owning and creating multiple IPs.
  • The Video Editor will own core metrics like retention and directly impact revenue.
