Sr. Visualization Specialist(Visualization, Tableau, D3)

- Collaborate with regional stakeholders to understand and translate business needs into data visualization and data requirements.
- Design the UI wireframes based on the requirement following the industry and Visa/Team defined best practices and usage requirements from the end users.
- Design the end to end architecture to build the required dashboards including data flow/mappings in collaboration with Data engineering team.
- Develop key modules in Tableau, PowerBI, D3 or any other identified BI tools with acceptable performance.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all visualizations and lead user acceptance testing with the business teams.
- Define the report/dashboard delivery mechanisms using API’s, subscription, report servers, etc. to provide the best experience to end users ensuring scalability requirements are addressed.
- Define the data and report level security requirements considering the different user roles and access privileges within the organization.
- Develop and maintain documentation for all data visualization processes and create content for end user training purposes.
- Build and manage a team of talented data visualization specialists with the ability to not only keep up with, but also pioneer, in this space.
- Execute projects following Agile scrum methodology, defining product backlogs, lead sprint prioritization, story pointing, sprint reviews, etc.
- Communicate effectively to inform and influence executive audiences, including executive level internal and external partners.
- Contribute to designing and developing data visualization strategies, frameworks and re-usable components in building and strengthening the Data insights practice.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
• 6+ yrs. work experience with a Master’s in an analytical field such as computer science, statistics, finance, economics or adjacent areas.
• 4+ years of experience managing technical architecture, tooling and design systems for BI development preferably in a financial services or consulting setting.
• 4+ years of experience leading BI/ data visualization projects and related skills
• Familiarity with shared services, consulting, financial services is a strong plus.
• Expert knowledge of data visualization tool ecosystem and common open-source technologies, (For e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Microstrategy, web frameworks like React, associated data engineering principles and practices)
Technical skills:
• Should have a strong understanding of data interpretation, and the ability to effectively represent data using appropriate visualization techniques. Additionally, candidates should have mastery of design principles, proficiency in visualization tools, and the ability to communicate complex data insights in a clear, compelling manner.
• Experience in gathering requirements, building prototypes, gathering feedback, and designing final outcome of visualization projects
• Expertise with Visualization Tools like Tableau, Power BI, D3 and exposure to code version control systems (git).
• Expertise in the workflows of visual design from identifying business goals to delivering impactful visualization and the processes in-between that make it happen.
• Experience in creating large scale data engineering pipelines, data-based decision-making and quantitative analysis.
• Experience – CICD/ Data Architectures/ Pipelines/ Quality /Code Management.
• Exposure to large scale project delivery, organization design and structure for shared services teams including intake, prioritization and associated tracking/reporting.
• Advanced experience in clarifying goals for BI/Visualization projects in ways that optimizes outcomes. Responsiveness to clients business goals and ability to translate into compelling reports and insights.
• Experience with SQL for extracting, aggregating, and processing big data Pipelines using Hadoop, EMR & NoSQL Databases.
• Experience creating/supporting production software/systems and a proven track record of identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks for production systems.

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to build credibility with stakeholders
• Team management experience including hiring and mentoring team members, career planning, work allocation and conflict resolution.
• Team-oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with proven ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external clients at all levels of management and work on complex issues within cross-functional teams
• Open-minded and willing to listen to ideas and opinions from others. Able to look for new solutions when current processes don't work
