Responsibilities
• Lead erection, installation, testing, and commissioning activities of Turbine Generator (TG) packages and associated auxiliaries.
• Manage construction and execution of integral piping systems including HP, LP, MP steam piping, condensate piping, feed water piping, drain systems, and auxiliary piping networks.
• Coordinate with BHEL, EPC contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders for execution of project milestones.
• Monitor work progress and ensure mechanical construction activities are completed as per approved project schedules.
• Review engineering drawings, piping layouts, isometrics, erection procedures, method statements, and technical specifications.
• Lead punch-point closure, preservation activities, pre-commissioning checks, hydro testing, flushing, and system readiness activities.
• Ensure proper receipt, storage, preservation, inventory control, issuance, and reconciliation of BHEL-supplied materials and equipment.
• Monitor material availability and proactively coordinate with procurement, stores, logistics, and BHEL teams to avoid execution delays.
• Manage contractor account verification, measurement certification, billing validation, and work completion documentation.
• Review RA Bills, final bills, material consumption reports, reconciliation statements, and project cost control records.
• Drive effective utilization of project resources and identify opportunities for cost optimization and productivity improvement.
• Supervise site execution teams, contractors, supervisors, engineers, and vendor representatives.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, welding procedures, inspection requirements, statutory codes, and project specifications.
• Participate in project review meetings and provide progress reports related to construction status, material availability, and billing performance.
• Ensure strict adherence to EHS standards, permit systems, risk assessments, and construction safety requirements. Qualifications Educational Qualification Mandatory

Tech in Mechanical Engineering. Preferred
• M.
Tech Mechanical Engineering.
• PG Diploma in Project Management or Construction Management.
• MBA (Operations) will be an added advantage. Relevant Certifications (Preferred)
• PMP / Project Management Certification
• ASME / Piping Standards Training
• Welding Inspection Certification
• QA/QC Certification
• SAP MM / SAP Project Systems
• Construction Safety Certification
• NDT Certification Qualifications and ExperienceMandatory Experience
• 12-18 years of experience in Thermal Power Plant Construction, Mechanical Projects, EPC Execution, or Power Plant Commissioning.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Turbine Generator (TG) erection and commissioning activities.
• Experience in Integral Piping erection, hydro testing, flushing, alignment, and commissioning.
• Proven experience in contractor billing coordination, RA bill verification, quantity certification, and project account reconciliation.
• Experience managing BHEL-supplied equipment, material reconciliation, inventory control, and material tracking activities.
• Exposure to large utility thermal power projects of 300 MW and above.
• Experience in project planning, construction monitoring, vendor coordination, and project documentation.
