Data Steward Data Governance Team Overview The Data Steward supports the Data Governance team by helping document, curate, and maintain high
- quality metadata and data products within the enterprise lakehouse environment. This role assists with data product lifecycle activities, catalog administration, and stewardship tasks that ensure data is accurate, well-defined, compliant, and easy for the business to use. This is an ideal role for someone early in their data governance journey who wants to build hands-on experience in metadata management, data quality, data cataloging, and data product lifecycle work. Qualifications Required
• 3+ years of experience in data stewardship, data governance.
• In-depth understanding of metadata, data quality concepts, and data governance practices.
• Expertise with SQL and data analysis tools to understand data structures.
• Experience with any data catalog tool, preferably data.world.
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn modern data platforms and governance methods. Preferred
• Experience with healthcare, payer operations, or regulated data environments.
• Exposure to cloud data ecosystems (AWS preferred) such as Glue Data Catalog, Redshift, or Iceberg.
• Basic understanding of privacy concepts (PII/PHI) and regulatory drivers.
• Interest in data product management principles.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in documenting business requirements, definitions, and metadata during the Intake and Define phases.
• Collect and organize information from business partners, analysts, and engineering teams.
• Help prepare data product materials such as use-case summaries, metadata pages, and draft product definitions.
• Support testing, validation, and metadata completeness checks during the Deploy and Sustain phases. Work Experience 710years
