Role Description The Technical Co-Founder / Founding Engineer will lead the design, development, and scaling of XIMPEX’s core technology platform, with a focus on tools that streamline export management and international operations. This full-time remote role involves building and maintaining backend and frontend systems, integrating third-party data sources, and ensuring robust performance, security, and reliability. The person in this role will define technical architecture, choose and implement technology stacks, and create prototypes and MVPs based on customer feedback and market research. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, testable code, reviewing contributions, managing cloud infrastructure, and collaborating closely with business and product stakeholders on feature prioritization and roadmap planning. As a founding team member, this role also contributes to product strategy, supports fundraising and customer demos, and helps establish engineering best practices and culture. Qualifications
• Strong analytical skills for solving complex technical problems, designing system architecture, and interpreting product and market data.
• Clear and effective communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate in a remote environment.
• Understanding of sales processes and customer engagement dynamics to support demos, technical discussions with prospects, and solution customization.
• Foundational marketing awareness, particularly in positioning technical capabilities, supporting product messaging, and providing input on go-to-market strategies.
• Solid research skills to evaluate technologies, study export management domain requirements, and incorporate user and market insights into product development.
• Proven experience as a full-stack or backend engineer (startup or early-stage experience preferred), with ownership of production systems.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or similar; common web frameworks; RESTful APIs).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure), databases, and basic DevOps practices (CI/CD, monitoring, security best practices).
• Ability to work autonomously, make pragmatic decisions under uncertainty, and thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; prior exposure to logistics, trade, or export domains is a plus.
