The GM – Project Execution is responsible for the direct operational management of assigned large-scale projects.
The role focuses on driving site progress, optimizing resource deployment, ensuring technical compliance, and translating project plans into field-level reality while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Execution & Site Management
- Drive the day-to-day execution of assigned projects from site mobilization to handover.
- Convert high-level project schedules into detailed weekly and monthly executable plans.
- Ensure that site activities align with the approved technical drawings, specifications, and method statements.
2. Progress Monitoring & Tactical Control
- Conduct daily/weekly site progress reviews and identify bottlenecks in real-time.
- Prepare detailed progress reports, dashboards, and MIS for the GM and senior management.
- Implement immediate corrective actions for any slippage in the project timeline.
3. Resource Optimization & Logistics
- Manage the efficient deployment of manpower (labour), machinery, and materials at the site level.
- Coordinate with the Purchase and Store departments to ensure timely availability of materials to avoid "dry runs."
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure they meet their contractual milestones.
4. Quality Assurance & Safety Implementation
- Enforce "Zero Tolerance" safety policies on-site and ensure all workmen use PPE.
- Supervise the QA/QC team to ensure that work is "Right First Time," reducing rework costs.
- Facilitate regular safety drills and quality audits at the project sites.
5. Billing, Documentation & Contract Administration
- Oversee the preparation and timely submission of Client Bills (RA Bills) and ensure certification.
- Maintain meticulous records of "Change Orders" or deviations to support future claims.
- Review and verify subcontractor invoices against actual work performed.
6. Team Mentorship & Inter-departmental Coordination
- Directly manage Project Managers and Site Engineers, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting.
- Work closely with the Planning and Design teams to resolve technical queries (RFIs) promptly.
- Foster a high-performance, disciplined culture among the site staff
KPI
1. Execution Throughput: Achieve 100% of the Monthly Progress Plan (MPP) as per the baseline schedule.
2. Billing Efficiency: Ensure timely submission and certification of RA bills within the stipulated contract cycle.
3. Wastage Control: Keep material wastage (Steel, Cement, RMC etc.) within the prescribed ±2% of theoretical consumption.
4. Safety & Compliance: Zero Lost Time Injuries (LTI) and 100% compliance with statutory labor laws on-site.
5. Subcontractor Management: Ensure 100% of subcontractor milestones are met to avoid project "tail-end" delays.
