Practice: Electricity Litigation & Regulatory Disputes

Key Areas of Responsibility

Electricity Litigation

• Handle electricity-related disputes before High Courts, APTEL and other relevant judicial forums.
• Draft petitions, appeals, written submissions and other legal pleadings.
• Develop litigation strategies and conduct legal research on electricity laws and judicial precedents.

Regulatory Proceedings & Advisory

• Handle matters before CERC, SERCs and other regulatory authorities.
• Advise clients on electricity laws, regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
• Analyse regulatory orders and assist in challenging or defending regulatory decisions.

Power Sector Disputes

• Handle disputes relating to Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), tariff determination, transmission, distribution and open access.
• Advise on contractual and commercial disputes arising in the electricity sector.

Candidate Profile

• LL.B. degree from a recognised university.
• Relevant experience in electricity litigation and regulatory proceedings.
• Strong understanding of electricity laws and the power-sector regulatory framework.
• Excellent drafting, legal research and analytical skills.
• Experience before High Courts, APTEL, CERC or SERCs will be an advantage.
