Title:Principal Material EngineerJob TitlePrincipal Material Engineer KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets. KBR is seeking for a Principal Material Engineer with proven experience in selecting, specifying, and ensuring the quality of piping materials used across exploration, production, refining, and transportation operations. The role guarantees that all materials comply with safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Preparation of Piping Material index, Piping Material classes for Process & Utilities.Preparation of Valve datasheets and Piping Specialty items datasheetsWriting Technical / Purchase specifications for Bulks, Valves etcDesign calculations like Pipe wall thickness under internal pressures, for full/partial vacuum conditions, Branch Reinforcement Pads, Bends, Spectacle Blinds (Spade/Spacer) etc.Thorough knowledge of International Codes & StandardsPreparation of Technical / Material Requisitions for Piping bulks/Valves/SpecialtiesTechnical Bid Evaluation involving discussions / clarifications with Vendors.Vendor documents & drawings reviews and approval.Required Education, Experience, & Skills: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.12-18 years of experience in Onshore / Offshore background.Hands on experience in handling metallic piping like Carbon / Stainless Steel /Duplex / Super Duplex Stainless Steels & Low Alloy Steel and non-metallic piping systems such as GRE, GRP, FRP, HDPE etc.Expertise in any Material Management tools.Good communications skills & coordination with various disciplines, across different centres, vendors etc.Experience with Shell DEP/ Qatar Petroleum (QP), or other Middle East Projects will be an added advantage.
