Job Purpose-Overview:The Cost Estimator will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates for products and projects by analysing material and Conversion costs. This role involves collaborating with various departments such as procurement, design and production to gather data, calculate costs, and develop cost-efficient strategies for the company's operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing cost estimation and a solid understanding of production processes.2. Key Responsibilities- Cost Estimation:-Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for products, projects, and processes, considering all direct and indirect costs (materials, labour, overhead).-Analyse cost data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.- Collaboration & Data Collection:-Work closely with the design, procurement, and production teams to gather essential data for accurate cost estimation.-Regularly update and maintain costing databases for material prices, labour rates, and overhead costs.Production Cost Analysis:-Assist in performing variance analysis (planned vs. actual costs) and identify areas of inefficiency.-Prepare cost-benefit analyses for potential product or process changes.Continuous Improvement:-Suggest process improvements based on cost analysis and industry best practices.-Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance cost control and efficiency within the manufacturing processes.3. Required QualificationsEducation:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.Experience:- 3 to 5 years of experience in cost estimation, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment.- Prior experience working with ERP systems, costing software, and data analysis tools. preferably in the heavy machinery manufacturing / construction equipment industry.Certifications/Licenses:- Proficiency in cost estimation software, MS office, Advance Excel, and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle).Special Skills:- Results-oriented with a proactive and strategic approach to vendor development.- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously..4.
