Key Objectives / Purpose

  • To originate, manage, and grow the working capital portfolio (e.g. cash credit, overdraft, bank guarantees, letter of credit) in the assigned territory / domain.
  • To ensure asset quality, minimize delinquencies, and maximize portfolio profitability.
  • To maintain strong relationships with clients (existing & new) and understand their working capital needs.
  • To act as a point of contact for clients on all working capital products, coordinating with credit, operations, legal, and other internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Relationship Management

  • Identify and acquire new clients requiring working capital / liquidity solutions (e.g. MSMEs, traders, manufacturers, service businesses).
  • Understand client business operations, cash flows, supplier / debtor cycles, and working capital requirements.
  • Propose, structure, and present working capital solutions (Cash Credit, Overdraft, BG, LC, etc.) customized to client needs.
  • Crosssell other banking products (e.g. trade finance, term loans, deposit products) where relevant.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with existing clients to ensure retention and renewal of facilities.

Credit Appraisal & Risk Management

  • Conduct credit assessment: analyze balance sheet, profit & loss, cash flow statements, key ratios, industry outlook, management risk.
  • Perform due diligence (site visits, background checks, verifications).
  • Prepare credit proposals / memos with recommendation, merits / demerits, risk mitigation, and get them sanctioned as per risk authority.
  • Monitor portfolio health: early warning signals, overdue / irregular accounts, provision requirements.
  • Work with credit / risk teams to ensure compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory norms, and reporting standards.
  • Manage documentation, legal and technical checks, security creation, renewals, and compliance.

Portfolio Monitoring & Collections

  • Monitor utilization, limits, repayments, renewals, and trigger actions on breach or irregularity.
  • Work on recovery of delinquent accounts in coordination with collections / legal teams.
  • Coordinate with operations, legal, and audit teams for seamless operations and resolution of queries.
  • Ensure periodic reviews and revalidation of working capital facilities.

Reporting & Administration

  • Prepare regular MIS, weekly / monthly / quarterly reports (e.g. limit utilization, overdue accounts, NPA movements).
  • Track key metrics: growth, yield, delinquency, exposure, disbursement vs target.
  • Maintain proper documentation, compliance, process adherence.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (operations, legal, credit, risk, audit) to ensure smooth execution.

Market & Industry Awareness

  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, macroeconomic & sectoral developments that may impact working capital needs and credit risk.
  • Provide market intelligence and feedback to product / strategy teams for product development or process improvement.
