The family office of the CEO of a leading investment firm is seeking a highly capable, detail-oriented Assistant Controller to work directly with the CFO. This role is well-suited for someone with a strong accounting foundation who enjoys being hands-on with both day-to-day execution and analytical tasks. The Assistant Controller will help manage the accounting and reporting functions across a variety of family-related entities, cash accounts, and investments, and will play a critical role in cash tracking, financial modeling, and investment oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Manage accounting processes across a range of family office entities (LLCs, trusts, partnerships)
  • Record journal entries, maintain general ledgers, and ensure timely month-end closes
  • Reconcile bank, brokerage, and investment accounts
  • Prepare internal financial reports, schedules, and summaries for review with the CFO
  • Track and categorize investment activity and capital movements

Cash Management

  • Monitor daily cash balances and prepare weekly and monthly cash reports
  • Execute wires, transfers, and capital calls in coordination with the CFO
  • Forecast short-term and long-term cash needs

Financial Modeling & Investment Tracking

  • Build and maintain models to support investment analysis, liquidity planning, and portfolio monitoring
  • Support financial planning initiatives including budgeting and tax coordination

Other

  • Support ad hoc projects including investment diligence and transaction execution

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5–8 years of accounting experience, ideally with a combination of public accounting and private/family office or investment exposure
  • Strong technical accounting skills and familiarity with multi-entity structures
  • Comfortable working across a wide range of responsibilities, from booking entries to building financial models
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Discreet, reliable, and comfortable handling sensitive personal and financial information
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a lean team
