Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Experienced Medical Coder, based in Chennai. The Medical Coder will manage accurate coding of medical documents, review patient records to assign appropriate codes, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations. The role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to clarify diagnoses and procedures, maintaining detailed coding documentation, and contributing to the optimization of coding workflows and revenue cycle processes.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards and guidelines
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to ensure coding accuracy and compliance
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical coding software
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent certification is required
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals
  • Prior experience in outpatient or inpatient medical coding is an advantage
  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-focused discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
