The Kohler India Technical Center in Pune plays a crucial role in our global engineering and design capabilities. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Engineer - BIM MEP Design to join our team and provide expert Building Information Modeling (BIM) services, specifically focused on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, to support our Global Pool and Spa Business.

Position Overview:

As a Sr. Engineer - BIM MEP Design, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering BIM MEP design and drafting, focusing on the creation of detailed mechanical plant and pipework layouts, including thermal cabin sections and elevations, based on architectural and structural designs. You will leverage your advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD to produce precise design documentation and coordinated 3D models. This role requires a strong understanding of BIM workflows and the ability to work independently to contribute to project success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with engineers to translate design concepts into accurate and detailed 2D drawings (plans, sections, schematics, etc.) and intelligent 3D BIM models using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• Develop high-quality, information-rich 3D models and compelling visualizations to effectively communicate design intent.
• Proactively manage and coordinate MEP system interfaces within the Revit/CAD environment with other disciplines (architectural, structural, etc.), ensuring seamless integration and clash detection.
• Ensure all drawing work is fully coordinated, proactively identifying and resolving potential clashes and ensuring accurate integration within the overall building design.
• Produce Revit and AutoCAD drawings in accordance with project schedules and deadlines.
• Maintain accurate drawing referencing, including timely updates of revision statuses and ensuring all drawing issues are accompanied by a comprehensive drawing issue register.
• Effectively communicate and liaise with other designers, consultants, and stakeholders as required to facilitate project coordination and information exchange.
• Adhere to and actively promote the company's BIM/Revit/CAD standards, workflows, and best practices.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of BIM processes and standards within the team.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field. A Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline with significant experience may also be considered.

Experience:

A minimum of 5-8 years of relevant professional experience in BIM and CAD drafting for MEP systems within the building services or process plant industries.

Essential Skills:

• Demonstrable expert proficiency in Autodesk Revit modeling and its application to process plant and MEP systems, with a strong understanding of the latest software releases and BIM methodologies.
• Significant experience working within a Building Information Modelling (BIM) environment, including understanding of BIM execution plans, data management, and collaboration workflows.
• Proven experience as a highly competent CAD operator with expertise in the latest releases of AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and the ability to translate design information into constructible drawings.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
• A proactive, enthusiastic, and flexible approach to work with a strong willingness to learn and adapt.
• Intuitive approach to design challenges and problem-solving with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to comply with and maintain company BIM/Revit/CAD standards and workflows.

Preferred Skills:

• Solid understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems and their integration within building designs.
• Experience with clash detection software and processes (e.g., Navisworks).
• Experience in supporting global projects and understanding international design standards.

• Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Specific Job Requirements:

• This is primarily an office-based role at the Kohler India Technical Center in Pune.
• Occasional site visits may be required to support project understanding and coordination.
