Experience-3 To 8 Years (3–8 years of experience in a dyeing lab handling 100% polyester fabrics.Experience with spectrophotometer software (Datacolor / X-rite) preferred.)

Education-Diploma/Degree in Textile Technology or related field

Responsibilities-:A. Shade Matching & Recipe Development

  • Perform shade matching for 100% polyester using disperse dyes (high-temperature/HT dyeing).
  • Develop accurate dyeing recipes and dyeing curves for lab dips.
  • Ensure lab-to-bulk reproducibility and approve lab dips before production.
  • Maintain dye bank, shade cards, and shade continuity records.

B. Laboratory Operations

  • Oversee daily operations of the dyeing laboratory (lab dips, testing, color fastness).
  • Conduct tests such as wash fastness, rubbing fastness, light fastness, pH, absorbency, dye uptake, etc.
  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of lab equipment (spectrophotometer, lab dyeing machine, GSM cutter, etc.).
  • Ensure color consistency using spectrophotometer and maintain DE tolerance limits.

C. Process Optimization

  • Work closely with production to optimize dyeing recipes, temperature profiles, chemical dosages, and dyeing times.
  • Analyze dyeing defects (patchiness, streaks, barriness, dullness, tone variation) and suggest corrective actions.
  • Reduce chemical/dye consumption through efficient recipe formulation.

D. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with dye house, quality department, merchandising, and R&D teams.
  • Communicate lab approvals, recipe details, and shade standards to production.
  • Support customer audits and meet buyer requirements/standards.

E. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and chemical handling standards (ZDHC, REACH, OEKO-TEX if applicable).
  • Monitor chemical expiry, stock usage, and storage conditions.
  • Maintain lab documentation, reports, and ISO system records.

3. Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of polyester dyeing using disperse dyes and HT dyeing processes.
  • Excellent shade matching and recipe formulation skills.
  • Hands-on experience with spectrophotometers and color management systems.
  • Good understanding of chemicals, auxiliaries, and dyeing machines.
  • Problem-solving ability with a focus on reducing shade variations and improving reproducibility.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
