JOB SUMMARY: The Unloading Person (MHE) is responsible for unloading goods from trucks, containers, or other transportation vehicles using Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as forklifts, BOPT, Stackers or other tools. This position ensures that products are safely and efficiently unloaded, properly organized in the warehouse, and ready for further processing or storage.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Unloading Goods:

• Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including forklifts, pallet, BOPT, Stackers, and other warehouse machinery to unload goods from trucks, containers, and shipping vehicles.
• Ensure products are unloaded safely, efficiently, and without damage.
• Unload pallets, boxes, and materials from trucks and place them in designated storage areas.

Inventory Management:

• Scan or manually document unloaded products, verifying item quantities and types against shipping records or purchase orders.
• Assist with labelling, tagging, or organizing products based on inventory system requirements.
• Identify any damaged or defective goods and report them to the supervisor for further action.

Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines when operating Material Handling Equipment.
• Conduct routine safety checks on MHE equipment before use to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Follow company safety standards, including proper lifting techniques and usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Report any safety hazards, accidents, or malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.

Warehouse Organization:

• Maintain a clean and organized unloading area, ensuring there is clear space for trucks and containers to dock.
• Assist in moving products to the appropriate storage locations or staging areas for further processing.
• Ensure that goods are handled in an efficient and orderly manner to minimize operational delays.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with other warehouse staff to ensure that unloading tasks are completed within deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members about inventory discrepancies, delays, or any issues with unloading.

Additional Duties:

• Assist in other warehouse activities, such as loading, inventory checks, or stock taking as needed.
• Perform basic housekeeping tasks to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
• Potential for overtime or evening/weekend shifts depending on operational needs

Knowledge & Skills

a) Ability to operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safely and efficiently.

b) Good understanding of safety procedures in a warehouse environment.

c) Basic math and record-keeping skills for tracking and documenting inventory.

d) Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.

e) Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting.

f) Ability to work in a warehouse or distribution centre environment, which may include exposure to varying temperatures

Certifications:

• Forklift certification (if applicable) or willingness to obtain certification upon hiring.
• Any other relevant certifications in warehouse operations or material handling equipment operation are a plus.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent lifting, bending, and reaching.
• Prolonged standing and walking during shifts.
• Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments as needed.
• Must be able to operate forklifts and other MHE, requiring hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

Role Specific Qualifications/Certifications & Experience

• Experience:

a) Previous experience working in a warehouse or distribution centre with license is preferred.

b) Experience operating Material Handling Equipment (forklifts, pallet BOPT) is highly desirable

c) This job function role exp is about ~4-6 years..

• Training/Knowledge : MHE handling & driving, Stores Management, Inventory Management
• Qualification : Diploma in Mechanical engineering/Material Management/MHE driving.
• Ideal starting age : 22 Yrs. -30 Yrs
