Specialist, Software Development Engineering

What does a successful Developer do at Fiserv?

You will be part of a Team of Professionals who excel in delivering world class solutions on OPTIS platform to our clients. Your involvement will be in designing, developing, and supporting the solutions that are delivered, suiting to the client needs. Your role also requires you to work with surround teams that are involved in providing the wholistic solution to the client. Your direct and indirect involvement will result in our clients being successful and may result in additional business opportunities.

What you will do:

• Preparing technical designs to meet the business requirements.
• Participating in development activities with onshore resources.
• Preparing test plan for unit testing, regression testing, system, and production parallel testing.
• Conducting technical walkthroughs with all stakeholders.
• Supporting System Testing and resolving any technical issues faced by QA.
• Coding and testing high priority and critical changes utilizing COBOL, JCL, DB2, IBM Utilities and VSAM.
• Handling Change Requests for implementing changes and owning them until closure.
• Meeting with project managers to provide daily or weekly project statuses.
• Working in shifts on need basis
• On-call Support

What you will need to have:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
• 6 10 years of Development experience.
• Must have strong Mainframe technical skills (CICS/COBOL/JCL/DFSORT).
• Must have strong understanding of CA tools Control-M, CA-VIEW, etc
• Strong experience in Mainframe environment, must be adept in TSO, ISPF, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, Endevor, Easytrieve.
• Knowledge of file transmission tools FTP/NDM.
• Work on batch as well as online programs.
• Strong analytical skill and problem-solving skill.
• Follow standards and controls to ensure quality of outcome.
• Develop technical documents for the application.
• Perform application support as necessary.
• Handling on-call support
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with usage of MS office Outlook, Word, Excel. SharePoint, Teams.
