Role Overview

We are seeking a
Data Scientist with strong expertise in web scraping and automation frameworks (must know Playwright)
. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in Python-based data collection, processing, and transformation workflows. This role requires building scalable scraping pipelines, handling complex web environments, and integrating APIs and databases to extract actionable insights.

Must-Have Skills

  • Programming:
    Python (advanced proficiency)
  • Web Scraping:
    Hands-on experience with
    BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium/Playwright (Playwright mandatory)
  • API Handling:
    REST & GraphQL, authentication flows (OAuth, tokens), rate limit management
  • Data Cleaning & Manipulation:
    Pandas, NumPy, Regex, XPath
  • Databases:
    MySQL/PostgreSQL, MongoDB (query optimization and schema design basics)
  • Scraping Best Practices:
    Proxy usage, CAPTCHA handling, user-agent rotation, scalable & resilient scraping pipelines

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Dashboarding/UI Tools:
    Streamlit, Plotly/Dash
  • Business Intelligence Tools:
    Power BI, Tableau
  • Workflow Orchestration:
    Airflow, Prefect (for scheduling & monitoring pipelines)
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
    Proficiency in Jupyter Notebooks for exploratory analysis and presentation

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain
    scalable scraping pipelines
    using Playwright and other Python-based tools.
  • Automate data collection from structured/unstructured sources (web, APIs, databases).
  • Implement
    robust data validation, cleaning, and transformation workflows
    .
  • Integrate pipelines with
    databases (SQL/NoSQL)
    for storage and retrieval.
  • Optimize scraping logic with
    anti-bot detection handling
    and
    scalability best practices
    .
  • Build quick dashboards and analysis reports for stakeholders using Streamlit/Dash or BI tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, analytics) to support data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in
    data science / data engineering roles
    with a strong focus on
    web scraping & automation
    .
  • Demonstrated expertise in
    Playwright
    for scalable, dynamic scraping.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate raw data into actionable insights.
