Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, taxation, and compliance. The role requires a high level of accuracy, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead and support the accounting team in achieving departmental goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, PF, PT, and other statutory returns.
  • Coordinate with auditors for statutory and internal audits; ensure audit schedules and documentation are prepared accurately.
  • Maintain records for fixed assets and depreciation calculations.
  • Oversee cash flow management and assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Review and approve journal entries, vouchers, and reconciliations.
  • Support management in decision-making through financial analysis and reports.
  • Supervise and guide junior accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in work.
  • Liaise with banks, vendors, and other external parties as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Professional qualification such as CA Inter / CMA preferred.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a manufacturing or trading company.
  • Strong knowledge of Tally ERP / SAP / accounting software.
  • In-depth understanding of accounting principles, taxation, and statutory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
