Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Second Class Mine Engineer with a strong background in managing limestone mining operations. The candidate should possess valid Second-Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency (DGMS) and hands-on experience in open-cast limestone mines. This role involves planning, supervising, and ensuring compliance with statutory and safety requirements while driving efficiency in mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safe and efficient operations of the limestone mine in compliance with DGMS and statutory regulations.
- Prepare and implement mining plans, production schedules, and development programs.
- Supervise drilling, blasting, excavation, and transportation activities.
- Monitor production targets, optimize resource utilization, and control operational costs.
- Implement safety protocols, conduct safety audits, and ensure zero-accident culture.
- Coordinate with geology, environment, and quality control teams to ensure grade and quality standards.
- Maintain statutory records, returns, and liaison with DGMS, IBM, Pollution Control Board, and other regulatory authorities.
- Lead, train, and supervise the mine workforce for smooth day-to-day operations.
- Monitor environmental compliance including waste dump management, water, and dust suppression measures.
- Assist in budgeting, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives in mine productivity.
Key Requirements
- Bachelors Degree/Diploma in Mining Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Valid Second Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency (DGMS Unrestricted for Metalliferous Mines, Open Cast).
- 56 years of proven experience in managing operations of a limestone mine.
- Strong knowledge of mining methods, mine planning software, and statutory guidelines.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Sound understanding of safety, environmental, and statutory compliances.
- Ability to work in remote locations and under challenging operational conditions.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in mine planning software (Surpac, Minex, AutoCAD, etc.).
- Exposure to mechanized mine operations and heavy earth-moving machinery.
