About CSR Department:
Corporate Social Responsibility department facilitates social and community development initiatives of the L&T Group, at its establishments and project sites. The theme for CSR at L&T is Building Indias Social Infrastructure The four thrust areas are Water & Sanitation, Education, Health, and Skill Building.
By interweaving business and social interests, it contributes in a sustainable manner to the welfare of underprivileged and engages with communities at multiple levels.
Position: Project Associate (Corporate Social Responsibility)
Location: Landmark, Andheri(East), Mumbai
Department: Corporate Social Responsibility
Experience Required: 2-3 years of experience of Knowledge of development sector, Knowledge of Rural community-based programs, Social Science research, Social Problems in India, Budgeting, Monitoring and documentation of Development projects
Educational Qualifications: Master of social work / Masters of Developmental Sciences
Role Overview:
Support & Capacity building of PRAYAS Trust, Project assessment, Agreement Process and Managing Grant administering process and payments, Annual Reviews and Project site visits.
Support to Integrated Community Development Project for field level monitoring, quality assurance and documentation of projects
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary 1: Managing CSR portfolio of Prayas Trusts (Across India)
L&Ts Prayas Trust network is a philanthropic association providing selfless community service to the underprivileged across L&T locations. Prayas Trust is formed by the spouses of male employees together with female employees of L&T. They are important drivers of CSR activities and demonstrate personal commitment by volunteering their time and skills for the betterment of the society
Facilitate the functioning of the Prayas trusts
- Facilitate the documentation and process for statutory requirements of the functioning of the Prayas trust as laid down by Trust Acts under the office of Charity commissioner in collaboration with L&T s legal department
- Facilitate maintenance of the records as required by the Trust Act
- Review the membership of the trust
Preparing Project proposals for CSR activities under Prayas trust
- Identify projects, study feasibility and carry out due diligence for CSR projects proposed by Prayas Trust
- Guide and help Prayas trust to submit the proposals in the format prescribed
- Review the proposals for fulfillment of the prescribed criteria for selection of projects for Prayas Trust
- Consolidate the proposals from all the trusts and share with corporate CSR
Budgeting and Financial management of CSR projects under Prayas Trust.
- Communication and coordination with Prayas Trust for submission of annual budgets, reviewing the project progress, budget requirements and spent of the ongoing projects
- To review the budgets for all CSR activities undertaken by the Trusts and finalize the budgets based on the CSR policy requirements and send consolidate budgets to Corporate CSR.
- Facilitate process and documentation for annual renewals / extensions of the contracts and MOUs
- Coordination with procurement team for organizing budget review with the Prayas trusts and issuing grant orders
- Keep track of project expenses and utilization of all the grants given to the Prayas Trust
- Maintain financial records, analyze budget spent against budget planned and share the observations with the Prayas Trust
- Close Follow-up with the Prayas Trust for tracking resource utilization, milestones, outputs and outcomes for each of the projects
Ensure timely submission of half yearly and annual reports from the Prayas trusts on the planned activities
- Raise concerns and take up issues related to on ground implementation of the projects with Prayas trusts and report them to the HO CSR team and suggest course correction if required
Regular field visits to the Prayas rusts Projects for monitoring and ensuring quantity and quality of work at the ground level
- Regular visit to the Project sites to see on ground implementation
- Discussion with Prayas team members and understand ground level issues in implementation, good practices and challenges and boost their motivation to achieve set targets
Maintain Documentation
- Maintain the details of membership list of all the affiliates of Prayas Trust, other mandatory and legal documents
- Prepare progress reports and provide quarterly updates on progress to CSR team.
- Compile data from various monitoring formats and tracking sheets and present it monthly to the Corporate CSR team
- Prepare a monthly presentation on the progress of the project and plan for the next month
Primary 2: Integrated Community Development Project
- Regular monitoring of ICDP project in coordination with the existing implementing NGO partners
- Follow-up closely with the NGO partner with a tracking sheet for tracking resource utilization, milestones, outputs and outcomes of the projects related to water and Soil, Sanitation, Sustainable agriculture, livelihood, Health & Nutrition and Institution Building
- Ensure timely submission of fortnightly, monthly, quarterly reports of project progress
- Organize and conduct Weekly, Fortnightly, Monthly conference calls with L&Ts Civil Team and the NGOs
- Raise concerns and take up issues related to on ground implementation of the project with NGO team and report it to HO CSR team and suggest course correction if required
- Coordinate with Civil team for Civil work to be carried out in ICDP project locations
- Regular field visits to the ICD Project sites and locations for monitoring and ensuring quantity and quality of work at the ground level
- Regular visit to the Project sites to see on ground implementation of Training programs, Community meetings, Awareness programs, Health related interventions, SHG meetings as well as check the sample quantity work related to civil structures for water conservation and harvesting.
- Interact with community representatives like farmers, farmer groups, Water shed associates, SHG groups and Federation meetings to review the benefits received and impact of the interventions on their lives individually and collectively.
- Visit the NGO office and meet the team to discuss and understand ground level issues in implementation, good practices and challenges and also boost their motivation to achieve set targets
- Review and verify the records and documents related to social aspect of the project.
- Planning and budgeting of the project with partner NGOs
- Coordinate and communicate with NGO partners for annual budget, review the progress of activities and utilization of budget against project activities
- Organize fortnightly call for reviewing monitoring and tracking sheet with the partner NGO
- Facilitate process and documentation for annual renewals / extensions of the contracts and MOUs
- Coordination with procurement team for organizing budget review with the partner NGOs and issue grant orders
- Prepare progress reports and provide monthly updates on progress to CSR team.
- Compile data from various monitoring formats and tracking sheets and present it monthly to the Corporate CSR team
- Review the data and give feedback to the NGOs on the good practices as well as on the targets to be achieved, challenges and areas for improvement

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATION:
Knowledge of development sector, Knowledge of Rural community-based programs, Social Science research, Social Problems in India, Budgeting, Monitoring and documentation of Development projects
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Basic skills in Computers, Proficiency to work with large excel sheets with budget data, Proficiency in MS-Office with skills in making Power point, and Web advanced Search and applications.
BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES: Excellent written and oral communication skills, good interpersonal skills, team worker and research orientation, attention to details and Capacity to Multitask
AREAS OF EXPOSURE/ WORK BACKGROUND: Corporate Experience with CSR departments or Foundations, NGO/ Development sector, Experience with Rural Community based program preferred.
